    incessant grinding

DS has 7 teeth, 4 up top and 3 at the bottom. For the past week or so he has been grinding them CONSTANTLY. Is this bad? I know they do it to deal with the pain but all the time? We give him Brauers or Hylands and occasionally panadol and it seems to work but still with the grinding. I'm worried he's going to wear them down! He didn't get any teeth until 9.5 months and then got all these 7 in very quick succession. Is it just him discovering his new chompers or something worse?

DD did this when she was teething as a bub, drove me mental, but I was told it was very normal.
She now does it at the age of 2 when I am trying to brush her teeth, she clamps her teeth together and grinds them, coz she knows I hate the sound

My DS was doing this a couple of months ago and from memory I wrote pretty much exactly the same post. It went on for a few weeks, then one day just stopped. A couple of weeks later he started again for a couple of days and then stopped again (fingers crossed). That noise just makes me feel ill though!

My DS has been doing this for the last 2 months and it is the most horrible noise.
Exactly like you described - Nails on a chalkboard.
I don't think it's doing any damage, it doesn't seem to be and his teeth aren't any shorter I don't think.

I'm glad I found this post! DS#2 has just started grinding his teeth in the past few days and it is doing my head in. I wasn't sure if it was a normal phase or something more worrisome! I'm glad to read that it is normal. He is 10 months old and has two teeth on the bottom, three on the top, and a fourth trying desperately to come in. He is also sick with a HORRIBLE cold at the moment. The sound is just HORRIBLE - particularly at 3am!! I just hope it is something he will get tired of quickly.
