How long did it take for Infacol to work for you?

    Hi,
I have a 4 week old with colic, we have tried gripe water but he hated the taste and wouldn't take it, we give him infants friend and it helps sometimes but overall not really, and now we've been giving him infacol.
I was just wondering for the people who have tried and found it a success, how long did it take for it to be a success? We started giving it to him last Sunday, and noticed a difference on Wednesday and Thursday, but come Friday it was just as bad as it ever was. Today its not as bad as yesterday but still heaps worse than Wednesday and Thursday and causing him a great deal of pain. He can't be put down without him crying and it wakes him up quite frequently.
On the infacol website it says it takes "a period of days" to build up in the system, I don't know how long we should try before we give up and move on to something else.
Also, did you ever miss the odd dose and what effect did it have? I accidentally missed one afternoon dose on Thursday(from the amount of sleep I have missed it wasn't hard), so I am considering the possibility that I have wrecked the whole process and have to wait for it to build up again... even though it was only one dose I forgot.
    Your comments would be appreciated.

Helped us pretty much straight away - then off and on - but I stuck with it till DD was 3 months then she didnt need it.

I found if I missed a dose then the wind did build up and we had a bad patch - hang in there! IT WILL GET BETTER!!

    HTH!

I found that infacol didn't really work that well for my youngest so I started using Brauer's colic relief and it was awesome and worked really well.

infacol worked quite quickly for us initially (after a day or so of use) but then i found that it just didn't seem to work as well anymore. we finished the bottle & didn't get another one...DS still had pains for a little bit but they got less & less on their own. i guess that was by about 2 months.

soooo...i'm not sure whether it really worked for us or whether he just got better on his own as he got that little bit older. we never tried anything else.
