I think DD has started getting a couple of teeth, she just loves chewing on my finger, as well as all the other teething symptoms. Today she didn't want to drink much at all, worried me a bit as it was a very warm day and we were travelling as well. Except for her first bottle of the day, she only had about 80-100ml of milk until about 4pm this afternoon (first bottle was at 8am). I guess if she's not hungry then she's not hungry, I just don't want her to get dehydrated. She did have fun drinking from her sippy cup but I don't know how much made it down vs how much she spat down the front of her dress!
is not wanting to eat (although she does seem to be hungry, until about 30ml into the bottle then she doesn't want it anymore) a symptom of teething? She doesn't seem to be sick and is acting normally otherwise.
Yeah, my DS goes off his food a bit when he's cutting teeth. In fact, DH and I were only mentioning today that he seems a bit off his food and we wondered if it's to do with his teeth. He's cutting his bottom eye teeth - together
yep. DS is cutting two molars atm and he won't have a bar of much. I've been offering more often, but sometimes all I thinks he wants is the cuddle. He'll finish and stick his dummy in and turn his head, but lie still.
Hi!
I know this thread is a couple of weeks old, but I just wanted to respond and say that my 9 month old is cutting his 4th tooth at the moment and he definitely goes off his food while he's teething. I've realised now that its actually one of the first signs he's getting another tooth (that, and the sudden frequent night waking!). I find he wants to breastfeed more often and refuses his solids unless its custard (his favourite).
He usually returns to normal after the tooth cuts through the gum and has started pushing through. I can't believe how quickly I'd forgotten what teething can be like for a little one - DS1 went through a terrible time getting his teeth, the poor little guy. I'm hoping DS2 wont have as much trouble.
Hi all.... i know this thread is a few months old but i was hoping someone could help.
My lil guy is 5 months and this monring he threw up his milk and only took about 50ml from the fresh bottle i made him. He's sleepier tham normal and hasnt yet had another feed... he just isnt interested. Also, he hasn't been sleeping well during the night for the last month or so and only sleeps in short bursts during the day. His hands are ALWAYS in his mouth and he prefers to bite his dummy and the bottle teat. Are thses symptomns of teething??
Could be, but teething 'symptoms' are so vague...it could be a myraid of other things too.
4months is notorious as when sleep patterns go awry, this is also the time where they become much more acutely aware of thier surroundings and themselves - hence the hands thing and dummy thing. Most babies test things out with their mouths - it's very sensorial - touch and taste.
He could be coming down with something, but he could also be just coming out of a fussy period (used to be known as growth spurts) or wonder week....
Shame they don't come with an instruction manual isn't it?
