teething at 3 years, is it possible?

My son will be 3 early January, lately he has been doing the typical teething sympotms. Chewing on everything, fingers, hands, toys, clothes and even dribbling. He has bad breath (and he bruches every day). He has been on soy milk and we are slowing transitioning to full cream milk again as his dairy allergy has come down. He has never been a big eater, we suscpect because of pain associated with sever reflus which he apparently does not have anymore. He is clingy, sooky and generally will not let me out of his sight. He is sleeping pretty well. Yesterday I caught him holding both sides of his checks too.

Do you think his molars are just moving?

    Thanks in advance.

Yeah, the bad breath could be a sign of somethine else - like tonsilitis?

I'd say it's definitely possible. My son is 2yrs and 7mths and still doesn't have his back molars yet. He's been a late teether with all his teeth. He hasn't shown any sign that they are even on the way yet.

I've read that the back molars usually grow between 20-24 months, but can be as late as 34-36 months.

DD is only just cracking her last molars too. She's 3 in March.

Can he tell you what's going on? DD is able to say that her teeth hurt which is very helpful!

It could be teething, but I'd be looking at other culprits as well.

    Thanks ladies,
He has grommets and last trip to the Dr the Dr said that one of his grommets was coming out, but you would think he would be tugging at his ears. He has no temp either.
I just checked and saw he has 2 molars on each side at the bottom. Not sure about the top I will have to lay him down and tickle him to try and see whats up top. Do you think 4 molars at the bottom is all they have at this age?

If he has all his baby teeth he will have 20 all up, I'd get his ears checked
