DS was a bit refluxy, but because he was basically a happy chucker, was never put on any meds. He had shocking times with wind though, so we had him on infacol from one month and he was pretty fine otherwise.
DD1 we thought had wind, but after trying all wind drops with no success - was diagnosed with silent reflux. She did the whole arching back, pulling off the bottle, wake after you put her down etc etc.
Now - DD2 is having issues - she's a chucker as well - lots of it. A dummy comforts her and helps her to fart. She curls up in a ball and screams after feeds, but seems ok once farting it out...lol..... but then some feeds (mostly on the right side) she pulls off and reattaches herself at least 30 times during the feed, then just screams. Other feeds are fine, no issues at all - stays on, drinks fine, falls asleep.
So I don't know if its reflux cos she has some symptoms of that and the MCHN seems to think she does cos of the vomiting and the fact she only put on 70g in 12 days. She still hsn't regained her birth weight.
Trapped wind can cause bubba to bring up all the milk on top of the wind pocket... making a chucker....and if she screams till she farts, she has had lots of wind on the inside.... pulling on and off is a classic sign of wind... bub is hungry, but "full" of wind....
Maybe try burping her REAL good, and when she starts the pull on/off, pat and rock upright till she burps or farts, be it 10 min or half hour, then feed again....once the wind is trapped, a good soft belly rub, and lifting the legs is great for getting out some great farts too!!!
I gave her a shot of the colic relief stuff, she fed perfectly and fell asleep in my arms. I'm hesitant to put her down cos she sleeps so much better when I hold her! lol
