I am pretty sure reflux is when the baby actually spews u milk and silent reflux is when it comes up the throat but not out. It burns their poor little throats too! My poor baby screamed for 17hours non stop, that when I knew there was definetly something very wrong. She is taking zantac for it now and is much more settled and happier!
Yep, that's pretty much it. Standard reflux is when they vomit and silent reflux is when they don't vomit but the tummy acid rises and causes a lot of burning pain.
My little girl has silent reflux and very rarely vomits. She did a lot of wet burps where it sounded like she had chucked but hadn't. She had actually brought it up and swallowed it again. She screamed in pain a lot during the day but slept well at night. Since being on Losec, she is a changed little girl and is happy and smiley most of the time and sleeps really well during the day and night now.
It has lots of valuable info on both standard and silent reflux. I have spoken to a couple of their volunteers (they are mums with reflux babies) and they have been wonderful. It's a bit like the ABA.
