DD2 has reflux and chucks quite a bit - frequently and often decent volumes. DD1 had silent reflux so although I've had a reflux baby, this is a whole different ball game.
We've had a HEAP of BF issues (I have another thread about that) but it looks like we've finally got things sorted, until yesterday that was. DD decided she wasn't really keen on the breast even before the feed - it was like the mere sight of my nipples was enough to freak her out and when I finally got her on, she fussed, pulled, cried, arched her back, etc pretty much at every feed. To top it off, she'd only gained 200g in 2 weeks which seems a bit average We did have a stinking hot day here yesterday but I thought she would drink more, not less I ended up giving her EBM top ups to make sure she was getting some milk as I seriously doubt she was taking much from the breast.
Does this all just sound like it's related to the reflux? She has fed well this morning but like I said, she just has these random moments or days where she doesn't feed well at all. I do worry about my supply because of this and because we've been through so much with BF already. If she has a bad day, my supply will suffer wont it? I bought Fenugreek tablets yesterday to take just in case.
We are seeing the GP tomorrow to follow up with our BF issues so I'll discuss it with her (she's an ex ABA counsellor) but any advice from the wise BB girls would would be great.
Sorry you're having more issues Taurean!
Sounds like a good idea to talk about it with the GP. it could be... or it could be any number of things. She might just be getting quicker at feeding and more interested in the world around her. She might be feeling unwell. She might be going through a developmental leap.
Watch her output as the best indicator of input - lots of wet nappies? 200g in 2 weeks is just fine. remmeber to average weight gains over 4-5 weeks to get a better picture as they do vary a lot week to week.
Your supply will be more resilient than one bad day. Hang in there. Hope you get some answers/reassurance from the doctor.
