    Is she teething?

The last few nights DD, who is 4 months, has been difficult to settle in the evening, but will still sleep 8 1/2 - 9 hours from 11pm. Today she's only had short naps and has woken from every one crying. I'm pretty sure it's her "I'm in pain" cry too. Tonight I noticed her lower gum is white and she is chewing on her fists and my fingers a lot. Could it be teething already?

Could definitely be teething. Four months is notorious for being an unsettled period. The great thing is, she's sleeping at night. If you are worried, take her to the GP but it does sound like teething to me. Are her poos any different? They start to get a little more aware of their surroundings at this age and are going through some mega development too which adds to the unsettled-ness. Hopefully if it is teething, they pop through soon. Have you thought about getting an amber teething necklace? I bought one for my DD2 and have never looked back. We still have some bad nights but nothing like prior to getting her the necklace. Good luck x

Sounds like the start of teething to me. My DS also started around about 4 months. It would stop and start and then he finally got the bottom two at 5 and half months. By the time he was 6 and half months he had the top four as well, since then we haven't gotten anymore, but I think there are more on the way. I second the amber teething necklace, makes a huge difference! I also find the Brauers teething drops are great, they're all natural and really take the edge of. Between them and the necklace we rarely have to give him panadol or nurofen.
