Hi my Doc has suggested I give my baby who is almost 3 weeks 1ml of mylanta by syringe just before I breastfeed her to help with the reflux that is really distressing her (and us!). Has anyone had good results doing this??
My bub went through the same thing, our doctor put us straight onto Zantac which helped alittle. Our peadriatian told us that many GP doctors put babies straight onto Zantac or other medications before diagnoising whether the baby's condition is actually reflux/colic. He suggested we try Mylanta before any of the more potent medications like Zantac as Mylanta is more easier on the tummy and it would give relief if it was reflux/colic. We tried Mylanta and it worked alot better than Zantac. Have a go and if it seems to work, keep going, if it only provided relief for alittle while, maybe see your doctor for Zantac or something similar.
We found that our baby got alot better at around the 10 week mark.
tried it with DD1 and it didnt work. it was quite distressing because the minty chalky taste of it made her gag. we got some other medicine from the GP after that.
