Which tooth should be next? Is this "normal"

    Hi again

DD has four top teeth and three at the bottom. They are where you'd expect, at the front and then either side at the top, and the two bottom teeth, plus one to the side. But I've just noticed tonight that she's popped a molar! What about the other teeth!?!?!

Thats the same as my DD. She has jsut popped all 4 molars at once though. We have the 4 top middle teeth and 3 bottom middle teeth (so we r missing one).

I am pretty sure the next ones after that are teh 'eye' teeth (the third ones along) then the last set of molars after that.

I dont think it matters if it goes out of order, that is jsut the most common order (i think) LOL!

Your DD is aroung the same as mine.

Teeth have a "general" order but all kids are different so can pop teeth through at any time really. DD2 has 4 top and 4 bottom incisors and 4 1yo molars. She is now popping all 4 canines (eye teeth). That should be it until the 4 2yo molars come through.

The first tooth my little Moo ever got was a molar! Then he got the bottom middle, the left bottom side, then the top side teeth & I've noticed today he's finally getting a top middle tooth! Sounds like they're all different.

Child #1 got teeth in the regulation order just like the textbooks say, starting at about 9 months.

Child #2 got the top two front, bottom two front, then the next pair of front ones, then all her molars, then the top canines, and when she was about 2.3 she FINALLY got the other bottom ones, so it took her well over a year to get all her teeth (she started getting teeth at 14 months). Because her teeth came in so slow and she was always gnawing on things they are quite crooked (they came in straight), and one of the bottom ones is chipped.

When teeth come through in a different order like that, it is called cross-cutting. It's pretty normal so don't worry. One of my DS's was the same - the last of his front 4 teeth came through really, really late - he nearly had all his molars already!! But don't worry, it turned up eventually!!

Thanks everyone! I've been so busy watching the spots at the front of her mouth that I didn't even notice this one until she gave a massive laugh last night with her mouth wide open. Felt pretty terrible. She was really grumpy last week and I kept watching that spot, but nothing. The molar has sort of come out of the side of her gum, instead of down, but that's sort of what happened with her front teeth too, they came out before they dropped down IYKWIM.

She has her dad's mouth, same shape and same teeth angles unfortunately DH had to have six teeth removed all up - and a couple were baby teeth to make room for the second set. I'm sorry baby girl!!!!!! I did pray that you'd get my mouth and teeth!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I know every child is different, but you can't help but have that nagging "what if" going on in the back of your head.
