    Help!

Help! My 6 month old son's sleeping is all over the place! From roughly 2 - 4 months he would sleep from 8 til 8, waking once for a feed. Since then it has gone downhill. He now wakes 6+ times a night! He's not even awake half of the time, simply squirming around and I know if I leave him he'll wake up completely. The rest of the time he's wide awake grinning at me when I go to him. It's driving me bonkers! I am lazy and he ends up co-sleeping with us most nights and I'd really like to get out of the habit.
He is also a terrible napper, always has been. He sleeps for 30 minutes on the dot and is then all bright eyed and bushy tailed.
His 6 month check was yesterday and the nurse told me to try and resettle him if his naps are shorter than an hour. I am seriously at a loss as to how to do this when he's wide awake and babbleing to me...

I had no problem with his lack of sleep during the day when he was sleeping so well at night, but it feels like something's got to give and right now I fear it might be me.

We have a bedtime ritual, bath, quiet play, book, boob & bed, but he's generally waking up an hour later, then an hour after that. Both times he's not completely awake and I can soothe him back to sleep by putting his dummy in and patting his back.

I've noticed in our baby buddies group that all of us had at least a few nights if not up to weeks now for me of disturbed sleep at night. 6 months seems to be a time that they change developmentally and go through heaps of changes rapidly. Teething, crawling, sitting up, etc etc ... these all disrupt sleeping patterns.

So I have no advice, but lots of understanding.
