my ds is 19 months now and hates his cot still.
He won't sleep in his cot during the day at all but will quite happily lay down on his flip out lounge and go to sleep. So during the day thats where he sleeps.
At night he goes to sleep on the sofa and then we transfer him to the cot, we are about to go to a bed as the cot is restricting his movements when he is asleep.
He is a wriggle bum and tosses and turns alot in his sleep, he gets stuck in the cot and thats when he wakes and gets frustrated.
