We get up early anyway (5am as DH starts work at 6), so when S wakes at 4 or 4:30 I can kind of take it. I mean, I'd prefer it if he slept in till 5 but I'll take what I can get! But recently (last two weeks or so) he's been waking at 3:30, or even a little earlier, and not going back to sleep, unless I go in and rock him to sleep, and even then he only sleeps for another half-three quarters of an hour.
I've been trying this week to push his bedtime back by about 5-10 minutes a day (usually he goes to bed around 6) but it doesn't seem to be changing his waking up time, and I don't want him to get into bed too late, mostly because he needs his sleep but also because it makes it hard to get our dinners ready and we need some alone adult time, considering we get into bed by 9pm at the latest most nights.
Any thoughts on getting him to "sleep in"? I wondered if it was his canines which were playing up... he was dribbling quite a bit today but apart from that no other teething signs, and he doesn't seem distressed or in pain like he does when he's teething, he just seems very awake!!
I want to get this sorted so that we can at least have a bit more sleep before this new one arrives and throws all our plans into disarray again!
My Ds went to bed at 6 last night and was up at 5. I think of you want him to sleep in a little bit try for a 7pm bed time..
I put my kids down at 7 - 7:30 each night and they are all up by 5:30-6:30
ps my day started at 4am yesterday so you have my sympathies. It is very tiring to start the day at that hour.. anything before 5 is just way to early..
Good Luck i hope you are abl to get something sorted soon
