Do I wake a sleeping baby??

DST has thrown us all out today.

My little man (almost 1yr) woke up at 5:45 thismorning (normal time) and only had a 45min nap (normally 2hrs) mid-morning. He was so tired and so went back down for a nap around 3:30/4pm (normal time). He's still sleeping! (at 5:30pm - normal time) and so I'm wondering, do I wake him up?

He's done an early night bedtime about twice in the last 3 weeks, however he went to sleep around 5pm those times - and invariably woke up a bit earlier as well!

Do I wake him up and keep him up for a while (give him dinner/have a bath/change out of his day clothes) and then put him down again at 7:30/8? (normal bedtime around 7/7:30) - or risk him staying up until 9/10?

    Anyone else had this dilemma?

I was just chatting about this with our neighbour! She was suggesting moving the routine forward by only 15mins/day until he's caught up. But apparently some bubs have no problems!

Out only problem really is lunchtime - that's set in stone (by the CC) so we stick to that, otherwise its pretty cruisy.

Both my kids have done this from time to time, If they slept past 5 I would wake them up otherwise they would wake up on their own and not get back to sleep til late. I've generally kept them awake til around 11.30am and then put them down for a nap after having something to eat. I found that If I put them down any later they would sleep too long then be awake all night... not fun.

(from around 11 months they both only had 1 nap a day)

I usually put DS down for a sleep sometime between 2 & 3:30 - depending on his tired signs. He will generally sleep 1.5 - 2 hours. But, if he is still asleep at 5pm, I wake him - otherwise he is up really late at night.

Thanks for the tips girls. Sorry I've taken so long to reply.

I ended up leaving him asleep, but he woke up a bit more than usual in the night - but he's settling down into DST now a bit better and actually slept for 5-6 hours without waking 2 nights ago!
