As some of you know, I've been bleeding for bout 7 weeks. We wanna start TTC but can't while I am the way I am.
I had an u/s on Tuesday and came back saying things like 'abnormal thickness (14mm) of endometrium'
Now, my dr rang today to tell me he was going to refer me to a gynocologist and that he recommends I have a D + C and/or a hystoscopy.
Can anyone tell me what these are like, and how much more bleeding I'm going to have to go through before it might finally stop? TIA x
Sorry you are going through this, sounds awful and frustrating for you. I have had a D&C when I had a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis and then another one after my M/C. I probably bled for about a week after the D&C when I had my op and then 2 weeks after the M/C one. I was a bit tender, but not sure if thats because of the surgery where they cut endo off and also when I had the M/C it was just painful in every way.
I really hope the docs can give you some answers and you can back on your TTC journey really soon xox
Hi Darkdreamer, Im sorry things arent going easily for your TTC venture
Think it depends on the type of D&C you have, mine was a suction D&C and I spotted for a day, very lightly. That was it. Ive never had a hystoscopy with out a laparoscopy included (part of IVF) so I cant help you there. Are you having both or just the hystoscopy??
Hang in there hun, hopefully they can get to the bottom of this quickly and you cant start TTC#2 again
ETA: did you know you are more fertile after a D&C?
I've only had a D&C, and I bled for about 2 days afterwards, then stopped. It hurt insanely for a couple of hours, and then the mountain of pain stuff I'd been given knocked me out, and the pain never came back I would definitely recommend it if you've been bleeding that long, coz they're basically gonna scrape everything off and out, and you can start fresh. They'll warn you that there is a small chance you'll grow some scar tissue or they can pierce your uterus, but these are worst case scenarios. The girls at KEMH were lovely as well
I've had both (at once) on top of a laparoscopy to remove dermoids and honestly, it's not that bad. I would say several days recovery, but honestly, I was up and at 'em (very slowly) the same day.
It's nothing to be worried about. Just make sure you have help with the little tyke while you recover!
