Angry Advices/encouragements needed? What is going on with me?

    Hi All,

I think this is going to be a long thread.... Sorry for the long post but I am trying to vent out my stress and at the same time hope to hear from those who experienced something similar to my case.

    Okay... here I come!

I've always had my period the same day every month.... DD is 8 months now and DH and I are planning TTC but my period has gone hay wire since having DD.

I stop breastfeeding when DD was 4 months old. While I was BF, I was on a birth control pill (a single component only). When DD was 6 months old, I switched to the combination birth control as I was not BF anymore thus would not harm DD in any way. I was on the combination pill for only 1 month and have completely stopped on contraceptives. I only started my AF when I was on the combination pill and that only happened that very once... my AF lasted for 5 days. Since then, I have not had any AF and I am NOT pregnant after 3 home pregnancy test 2 weeks after my AF due date. But the odd thing is when I am supposed to have AF... I feel cramps all those 5 days... When those 5 days have gone... the cramps went away...but now, I've been feeling cramps here and there even though it's not time for AF!?

DH and I are really hoping to conceive but it's impossible without AF!!! At first, I thought it might be stress... then I started worrying if there's something wrong internally with me preventing me from conceiving... I am so scared and don't really know how to talk about this issue to DH.

I am going crazy these days because I've been testing myself with HPT for so many times... I feel so disappointed in what's happening. Lately, I've been feeling a little off because of this. DD's been my sunshine everyday... without her, I don't think I could bring out the smile since I'm just stuck on worrying sick!

Did anyone go through the same thing? SIGH

AF post partum can take a few cycles to become regular - breastfeeing or FF. You only gave birth 8 months ago....it can take time for your body to recover and get back into the regularity of menstruating

Maybe the stress of no AF is causing no AF- KWIM ??

Oh, and BTW - you dont necessarily need AF to fall pregnant. You must ovulate before you get AF, so theoretically you can catch the egg before your first AF.

But in saying that, maybe just taking a relaxed approach, enjoying your lil girl and getting in the bedding when you can may see AF arrive.....just a thought.

    Good luck. !

I had my DD almost 11 months ago, and AF became regular after about 8 months, then I went back on BCP and again it went a bit haywire, so 2 months after starting BCP im back to normal. Id say that its a combination of your body going back to normal after the birth and that you went on and off the pill again in a short amount of time that has sent your AF cycle haywire. Give it another cycle or two and you should find that you will be somewhat regular again. BOL with ttc!

Maybe the stress of no AF has caused no AF! Those days that I hated when AF came have seemed to be so far ago. Now, I'm waking up everyday hoping to see something! ARGH!

DH and I have beec TTC based on my June cycle's AF. It's said that my most fertile days of this month is from 15-20. Hopefully something positive will show up.

Is there any herbal remedies for regulating AF? I have been on postnatal vitamins and have been eating a healthy balanced diet for 8 months now hoping for another miracle to come!

Honey, I know it's hard, but just relax! As the others have said, it takes some time for your body to adjust after pregnancy, breastfeeding, and the pill. Many say up to a year or more. One friend of mine has had three girls, all about 2 years apart, and hasn't had a period since she conceived the first!
Since it will be difficult to figure out where you are in your cycle, just make love when you feel like it. You are most likely to be in the mood when you are ovulating anyway. You could watch your cm for clues too - check out fertility friend's info on charting and observing your cm if you are interested. (google it)
Wait a couple of months, and if there is still nothing going on, then make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your concerns.
    All the best!

Is it okay to conceive before having regular AF? My doctor urges me to wait until my regular cycles to conceive but I really am hoping to TTC now. Who knows how long it may take me for my body to readjust itself. Is it safe to proceed even without my AF?

I know it's a little harder to catch my ovulation dates, but I've been charting my temperature as well as noticing my CM and DH and I just DTD as soon as we have the mood hoping for a little miracle to come.

I've already tried 3 HPTs... I feel like a lunatic but am desperately waiting for that + to show up on the window....
