    Alternating long/short cycles

I've had 6 cycles since they resumed - 32, 28, 30, 25, 29, 26 days - and they seem to alternate long then short. Does it mean something or is it just a weird coincidence?
Could it be determined by which ovary is ovulating? It seems like the LP is shorter on those short cycles - 10-11 days versus 14+ on the others.
    Just curious. Doesn't matter really.

My cycles used to do that for years. In stressful times, (HSC, living overseas etc) I think one ovary shut down completely and AF just came every second month.

    Now, though? Who knows

Anyway, yeah, could be. There's someone else in the TTCAML thread whose cycles do it too.

I was getting alternating long and short cycles when I was having cycle tracking pre IVF. Interestingly I was Oing from a different ovary each time, so quite possibly the ovary determines the cycle length. I remember asking the clinic nurse and she said anything is possible. Only difference was that the length of the cycle in my case was determined by the time it took me to actually O, one month it would take ages and then the next it would happen quicker. LP remained about the same each time, until I was put onto LP support.

Don't know what it all means though WRT to TTC LOL Just thought you might be interested

    Thinks for the replies.
I do seem to O a bit later on the long cycles also.
    I just find it curious

I have similar situation, but had not considered it might be caused by which side is the egg is released from. I would love to know which side has ovulated (as one side is bit damaged and would rather not risk more problems with it).
Mine goes from 26 -33 days. My luteaul phase seems to average 12 days but sometimes is 11 and according to F sometimes is 13 or 14 (bit suss about those ones though ).
We want to gender sway so makes it hard to try timing for a girl (not around Ov) when my cycle can vary by a week around ovulation time!!

eta. my shortest cycles through out the year (since I started charting 3 yrs ago) have all been in February too!

Oh yes Ahurani, I'm an IVF mum - also have male factor so my cycles are irrelevant anyway. I was just curious because I'd never noticed this before.

Salsa, do you feel O pain at all? I seem to alternate each month, so that's why I thought it might be due to my ovaries.

sometime I do, sometime I dont. Sometimes it seems like it could be O pain but then its will out of when my chart says I should have O'd. I cant rely on what I feel to gage when or which side.

damn. short of ultrasounding I guess there's no other way to tell.

I feel it more clearly on the left. And that's the side with teh longer cycles. I wonder if that's the better side...?
