    Anxious

Hello, I'm Mel and have just joined. I am 34 this April and already have a 12 yr old son. My partner and I would like to have another child and recently started ttc but I have a few worries and would like some feed back if anybody has been in the same situation.
i stopped the pill in December (been on it for 11yrs) I didn't get my periods back so my gynie started me on clomid in feb. That round worked as he did an internal and saw a good egg on ovary and blood test came back positive for positive ovulation. Took second round of clomid on days 5 - 9 and started ttc in late march early April.
Im due for AF this weekend but over the past week I have had very sore lower back, no sore nipples like I got before AF last month and some cramping. I took two sensitive test and came back negative (maybe too soon).
Would just like to hear of other similar stories. I don't like the waiting game.
    xxxx thanks

Often after being on the pill for a long time it takes a while to things to happen. Your symptoms when expecting a period might be completely different as your body is doing some changes after being on the pill.

Thank you for replying. That makes sense in what you said. I'm hoping that all will be ok and things go smoothly. I didn't have any troubles conceiving out first but I was only 21. I'm nervous that my age will play a part in ttc. Xx

I was on the pill for a long time before TCC number one and I was not hugely irregular after but there was enough of a. Difference between each cycle to make it hard to pinpoint ovulation (though I wasn't charting or monitoring cervical fluids at the time which would have made it easier). It took a long time to conceive DD and in part i blame the pill, also you can't rely on what your cycles used to be like pre-pill as often the body will find a whole new cycle once it adjusts (length, luteal phase etc).

Thank you for your reply. How long did it take you tc?? And where you on clomid?. I guess I need to relax as well, but its hard when you really want something so badly. I'm sure you will understand that feeling. I'm so happy that it finally worked out for you. If u don't mind me asking....where you and your partner in your 30's.

Hi! I didn't have clomid- we did all the usual tests, my hormones seemed to be peaking at the right points in my cycle to suggest ovulation and a good luteal phase etc, we just had mystery fertility issues. DH was told he had low motility but the day he did the test he went to the wrong drop off lab so was running sound town for almost the limit you can have sperm alive in a cup and apparently that affects motility (as it would- dying sperm) so we don't actually know if he had low motility in the end. I had an ultrasound that showed my number of follicles was at the high end of normal but again that wasn't conclusive enough to say, hey yeah, that's the problem!

We were TCC for about 19 months I think. I was 29 when we started, almost 30.

I'm so happy that everything eventually worked out for you. 😄. I am now 2 days late for AF and have been getting period like cramps today but no sign of anything. I will wait till day 35 and do a test if nothing has happened, I'm hoping my clomid did its job this month???? My first pregnancy happened so easily, I was hoping for the same again but I'll keep my chin up.

It's so hard isn't it, when you decide you are ready for baby one or two or three you just want it now! We're TCCing number 2 at the moment. I should k ow by the end of the week whether it is happening this month - fingers crossed. good luck to you!

Yes it's hard when u want something badly and I'm not the patient type. Lol I also think not the worst but "what if's" or "maybe if". Mr P said I need to just relax and things will happen when they are meant too so I should keep that in my head.
I hope all goes well for number 2 and I have my fingers xed for good results.
    Keep me updated.
