Unhappy Any ideas of what is happening?

    Hi everyone,

I know there is no better place to get advice from than a doctor but my FS appointment isn't until 6 Dec and I really don't get anything from going to my GP about the problems I've been having the last few months so I really need some input.

I've had fairly irregular cycles since early MC in March this year and I've always been told by my GP that it's stress induced blah blah blah. Any who my last 2 cycles have been the most regular I've had so far being 37 and 39 days apart. I thought maybe that was a good sign because honestly they were the first 2 cycles that seemed normal for me. I can't tell you whether I have been Oing because last month was the first month that I started using OPKs.

Now my problem is that suddenly I've gone from a 39 day cycle last month to a 24 day cycle this month but to make matters worse I'm now on CD8 and I am still spotting brown/light pink blood when I go to the toilet. I usually only have bleeding for 5 days and that's it but this is becoming a joke for me now. I'm not in any horrible pain. On CD6 I felt very light AF-like pains and today I had some very faint twinges low near my pelvis. I'm not that great at detecting if pain is coming from my ovaries so at this point I can only give you a general idea of where I'm feeling things.

I asked my GP for a BT last week because having a 24 day cycle worried me and I was worried it may have been another MC but the results came back negative. I didn't have any symptoms either like I had the first time I fell pg so I've pretty much ruled that out.

Can anyone give me some ideas of what I should be doing or thinking about at this point of time? I don't know if this is just my body playing silly buggers or whether I have a real reason to be worried and that something is wrong with me.

Any advice, suggestions, tips, similar experiences would be greatly appreciated for this worry wart...

First of all, I don't know you but it sounds like the ttc is a bit of a roller coaster for you atm.

My cycles were always irregular - anywhere from 19 to 37 days! They 'settled' about 6 months before we conceived DS but I still have very different cycles depending on what side I O from - short one month, 5-7 days longer the next month. Could that be what is happening for you? Also, maybe you just didn't O last month and that is why you had a short cycle and AF is different? As for the pain, it could be anything really - it's all only speculation without a FS and tests. Have you seen the FS before? Had tests for endo? Just make sure you keep note of all this for the FS appointment as it may help pinpoint what's happening.

Um, I'm not sure if any of this is reassuring for you. It's meant to be!

    Thanks for your reply JLeigh

My AF has gone from light to medium as the day progressed though I'm not feeling any AF pains whatsoever. I'm just really hormonal and tired but I've had some late nights this week so that could be a lot of the cause too...

I haven't been to a FS before so this will be my first appointment with one. Not really sure what to expect but I'm really anxious for December now. I'm going to write down so many questions and I'm keeping record of everything I feel and all the tests I've taken including OPKs. The next few weeks are going to be a drag.

Hi. Sorry you're having so much trouble.

Firstly, have you tried using the symptom-thermal method of tracking your cycle? Fertility Friend is a good site to learn how, otherwise some books like those by Francesca Naish have a good explanation. I find temping reduces the guess work. If you start now, you may have a better idea of what's going on by your FS appointment.

Secondly, you may have a hormonal imbalance. I've found acupuncture very good at sorting this out.

Thirdly, nutrient imbalance can affect our hormones/fertility. It is worth checking your levels of zinc, magnesium, iron, vit d, c & b. a naturopath would be able to advise you better. Diet, exercise and sleep all contribute to health & fertility as well, so worth looking at.

I hope you find some answers soon.
