Anyone know of a good GP in Logan area, QLD???

    Hey!

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good GP in Logan area?

I went to the doctor yesterday as I'm currently trying to conceive but desperately needing help regulating my periods after the pill. He was generally unhelpful and has referred me to a gynecologist in the city. The gynecologist only works 9-4pm Mon-Fri- meaning if I do want to see him I'll have to take a day off work. I work on contract and next week is only week 2 of the full-yr contract- so I don't want to take a day off if I can avoid it! I'm currently at cd 61 with no AF, so I'd love to find a GP willing to me both regulate my periods and give me advice tcc. I went off the pill in Oct 08, so it's still early days- but if anyone knows of a good GP in Logan, I'd love to hear about them!!!

    Sounds like a plan Liz!

I tried a new GP yesterday and he was pretty useless- I told him I needed help regulating my period after coming off the pill as I'm trying to get pregnant. He had no idea how to help- saying the only way to regulate periods was to take the pill- and referred me to the gynecologist. He didn't ask about how long I'd been on the pill, about pap smears, didn't suggest doing a blood test or taking prenatal vitamins or anything like that- he just seemed in a rush to get me out of there!!! He did ask my marital status, my husbands religion and my occupation however!!! In total- I think I was in his office for about 3 mins!

I know other ppl have GPs that are interested in doing proper preconception checkups and the like- I'm so jealous!!! I'm TCC my first and I just want a GP that is going to tell me what I need to do to ensure I have a healthy bub because at the moment all my info is coming from forums!!! lol

    hi
im from shailer park. i would love an australian female dr if possible. i know that sounds awful but i have had really bad experiences with foriegn drs and i would rather a woman who may have had some experiences with children. i am going to see if there is one at the hyperdome med centre(crn bryants rd) as that is nice a close.
myfingerscrossed, your last gp sounds like a tool. what an idiot to want to know that info about ur hubby and nothing about you. that is what i am sick of, drs that ignore the real issue. i suffer migraines often and all the drs i have seen have told me that they are just tension headaches and very normal. no tests are ever done. very frustrating to find a nice and trusting dr that stays in the one place. when i find a good one they always move.
    good luck

I go to a female Dr (she is a foreign Dr) on Waller Rd at Regents Park. The surgery is called Mediprac Regants Park. I have always found her to be very helpful. When I started TTC and had not had a period for over 4 months she did some tests and diagnosed my PCOS. Every other Dr I had been to just said wait and see what happens even though it had been so long and my sister also had PCOS, they just ignored it. She also did some blood tests to check my immunity to things like Hepititis and Rubella.

    Hey again!

Well the doctor (possibly of Chinese descent) I tried on the weekend was on Haig Rd at Loganlea. It was my own fault though- my brother tried the doctors there and had similar issues- he ended up finding a better gp at Marsden Shopping Centre medical. I haven't been there though- and he was seeing them for a totally different reason- but I am considering trying them!!!

I just want normal periods so I can read my cycle better!!! Cd62 and still nothing!!!! Hope the vitex I've started taking starts doing something soon! (It has made my boobs more sensitive so I guess it must be!).

I went to a doctor at the Hyperdome Medical Centre (on bryants rd) just over a yr ago- she was South African I think- and seemed to know what she was on about- but she was a little condescending and way too pushy for me- so I never went back!!! Maybe I'm too picky- but I want a doctor that is friendly AND knowledgable! If I'm there to talk about what's happening "down there"- I want to feel comfortable!

I'll definately keep the drs at Crestmead and Regents Park in mind for my next visit!!! I'm also booked in for a skin check at the Waterford Medical Centre later this month- so i might see if they'll do a general consult and skin check if AF doesn't sort herself out with the help of vitex before then!

    Btw- Im at Loganlea.

Hey, I grew up in Shailer...have you tried Shailer Park Medical Centre. I know there is still a Dr Fitzsimons there who is very nice, thorough and she is Australian. I think she is usually good to see early mornings too (like when they open). I used to find most of the doctors there were nice though, and as far as I know alot of them are still there (family still go there). I believe there is a Gynaecologist in the same block of shops too.

Hope this helps a little....good luck with everything
