    Oral Activity bad for conception?

Has anyone heard of this? I read somewhere that saliva can kill sperm so oral sex should be avoided if wishing to conceive. Don't know if it's a wives tale or not???

I've heard the same thing. Something about the acidity of saliva apparently?? It wouldn't ruin your chances of conceiving though - saliva doesn't make a great contraceptive LOL - but if you want to maximise your chances of conceiving then maybe avoid it around O time?

If it is only oral you are having then there may be some problems LOL

In reality though - maybe I am doing it wrong but the sperm is generally deposited in a very different place to where the saliva will end up.

I agree with Emma, i really cant imagine it would have a huge effect but i would probably avoid it around O time (just in case!)

    good luck!!

Its all got to do with the right environment for the sperm. Apparently both commercial lubes and saliva are not great for the little swimmers, so they suggest you use either real eggwhite if you are low on EWCM or Preseed, a more spern-friendly lube. I agree with the others tho, re where the sperm gets "deposited" and where the saliva would be. I can't see that the two would be in any contact at all (unless he has a really, really long tongue... :smt016 )
