Hmm....that is pretty low. Do you mean by chinese Dr a chinese herbalist/acupuncturist?? Or that your Dr is chinese? lol.
If it's the acupuncturist/herbalist one then they will be able to help warm your body up for conception and tell you what foods to eat, etc.

My temps were low when I was TTC, and the acupuncturist got them up within one cycle. Pre-O, they hovered about 35.8 (low) and post-O they were about 36.3-36.6.

Your temps do seem a bit low.

    HTH and good luck.

When I was temping & TTCing last year I noticed I had lowish temps.

    Pre O 35.8 to 36.2 after O 36.3 to 36.4 - quite a bit lower than most charts I saw.

It didn't stop me getting pregnant though - I had 3 pregnancies in the one year (the last one was successful). It also made it easy to suspect a pregnancy by looking at the temps as when I did get pregnant my temp would shoot up to 36.8 to 37 which it didn't do in non pregnant cycles. I also experienced temp dips (two or three day ones) on implantation.

As long as you can see a higher temp in the second half of the cycle you can be pretty safe to say that O has occurred. I don't think it matters if the temps are lower than other peoples, it's just how they change within yourself.

By the way, those 3 pregnancies happened at the age of 41 when I'm supposed to only have a 5% chance of conceiving each month so I don't think low temps really matter.

My herbalist said that to concieve my temp needed to be 36.2 ... well I concieved on one of two days that I was this temp of trying for 8mths with their herbal formual & I might add I was 39years old with my 1st bub... we had a healthy lil girl

I wish you the absolute best (and yeh, the temp chart is a great method)

wow interesting info - thanks all
i had a 30 day cycle this time... much better than before i was doing the tcm and acupuncture...last time i was ttc the cycles were around 14 wks at the beginning (6 wks was shortest)
Spoke to herbalist re temps - she thinks they are ok but we are working at getting them up a bit too... it did rise at o so not too concerning but good to get them up a bity i think (this month so far they look higher a little)
hope you are all going well!

From what I have heard low temps can be a result of hormal imbalances. I had low temps after having DD1 and the doctor put me on progesterone cream. After 5 months my temps increased and my cycles regulated.

Now 10 months after DD2 my temps are a little higher but not "normal" and I have been taking a herbal formula from a naturopath. She thinks I have a sub clinical thyroid condition. So far the herbs have not helped at all and my last cycle was 37 days long. I had really flat temps and I did not O until day 27. Then I had 4 days of spotting before AF.

I will give the herbs one more month and then I'll go back to my doctor and get progesterone cream.

I had been tested for hormone imbalances and all was OK yet I still had low temps.

Anyway, I've been into FF & found my successful chart with Brock. On O day my temp was only 36.0 so it is indeed possible to get pregnant with a low temp. My temp had been at 35.8 for the two days before O.

    V interesting Satya...
I am not too concerned about it now and I dont think mine are low enough to have a major impact - though i may rethink that if ttc doesnt work for a long time. interestingly this month they are up a little on last month
BekZ - hope the herbs work for you...

Out of curiosity, what did you do to get your temps up? I am considering seeing an acupuncturist, but am not sure what exactly to as for! lol I've got low temps too, but I've also got Polycystic ovaries so it's a double whammy. Did you also take herbs to help with your temps? Congratulations with your pregnancy!

    Thank you in advance!

    hi there
my tcm helped me get my temps up a little through diet (i think it will depend on your 'diagnosis' - i was ying deficient so had to eat 'ying' foods at the start of my cycle), herbs and acupuncture. i must say they never got to the high level some ppl get even at the start of my preg, so i am prob just predisposed to lower temps overall... but it did get more consistent (and obv i fell preg anyway). I would recommend seeing a trad chinese med practitioner for a good wholistic approach. good luck!
