BFN but no AF!!!??

GOSH - this has been a whirl wind of events for you, I cant believe you have had to go through all this. How many days passed your due period are you??

Yeah Im not going too badly, havnt really coped many of the symptoms yet, just really tired and a bit crampy. Im really worried and until I get a scan and see or hear that it is in the uterus and not the tube I cant stop worrying. I have got my scan on the 3rd of November. So I am really eexcited :)

Let us know what your results come back as, its so bizarre everything except the blood test is like you are pregnant.

thanks alana.. my period was due the 30th so i am 24 days over due.. which means i am in day 52 of my cycle..
it is werid.. but im trying to think that im not pregnant coz i dont want the disappointment.. other than that i have no idea what is going on.. lets hope this afternoon brings more news!!! dr said effectively if i ovulated on the 29/30 sept (i think that was the date)i should have my af by now! and the spotting and cramping is a good sign..
if it is neg then she said we may look into an ultra sound to see if there is any thing there.. or if there is something else going on..
werid tho coz my other AF's have been fairly regular.. either a few days out.. or a week. not nearly a full month hehehehe
alana im sure things are fine:) and it is only natural to worry until you see that little heart beat.. and hey i wouldnt be complaining if u havnt got symstoms.. although this can make you feel like its not really happening.. its like praying for your af you pray for symptoms so it feels real..
i have great faith that every thing is going fine for you and its only a few more days really till your scan :)

Just wondering why the doc is so sure you ovulated. Did you have an ultrasound? As far as I know ultrasound combined with a BT is the only way to be sure that you have actually ovulated.

Try not to get your hopes up too much. I've seen a number of women in the same position as you and almost all of them turn out to be not pregnant - just a wacko cycle. I have of course seen the odd one that has turned out to be pregnant - sometimes all is well and sometimes it is not.

hence why im not getting my hopes up.. to be honest i think that it is an odd cycle.. but i think 8 weeks is long enough to wait b4 looking into it... i should be getting my af more often than that really... if im not then my dr wants to keep an eye on it. my mum had to have hormones to fall preg.. so my dr is keeping an eye on my cycles and my body etc because if we are actively trying for 6 months rather than 12 she will look into it.. but i guess thats just my dr.
i decribed to her the day that i had all this mucus what it looked like.. how odd it was.. how much there was etc.. i even showed my husband.. coz i was like what is happening!
so from that she said it sounds like i definetly ovualted.. although yes you are right until we get the blood results we wont know.

You poor thing. It must be really frustrating waiting to see what's going on. I used to hate the TWW - I can't imagine how hard it is when that's extended by several weeks. I've never experienced anything like it.

my blood test came back negative... so guess we cna assume that i am not UTD.

my doctor said that if i do not receive my AF in the next week she wants to do an ultra sound.

i think its a matter of waiting for my AF to arrive.. i woke up this morning with the flu so i took some pain killers coz my body was aching all over.. so its good to have the negative result and b able to take nurophen plus..

so i have found myself in a similar situation....and while searching the web for others going through the same thing i found this thread.........i am 3 weeks late my last period was september 8th give or a take a day...and i was expecting my last on the 6th of Oct...but still not here....i have taken 3 tests all negative ...today being my latest... i had been on birth control for 7 years ...until last march when i decided to stop...have switched to just condoms which has been working well....for the most part...my partner and i do have unprotected sex from time to time....where he always pulls out....which i realize is not fool proof ...so theres a definite possibility that i could be pregnant. my cycles have been a little longer since i stopped taking bc. they were 28..and now they are around 30/31 days ...but never 3 weeks late. i have been keeping a mental log of weird things happening...on 0ct 18 ...cycle day 40 i had major cramping and was constantly visiting the restroom because i kept thinking af was there...but nothing. i feel sensations of tugging in my abdomen and oct 19 i was in the worst mood i have been ever just super annoyed and bursting into tears for no reason. ...was assuming my af was coming....i was thinking this could be because i'm no longer on bc but i've been off for 7 months and my cycle has been pretty consistant since i've stopped........anyway its all really confusing and i just hope i get my AF or a + test so that i can set my mind at ease. keep me posted on your events and i'll try to do the same.

hey there marissarc! nice to meet you.. thank you for your situation.. makes me feel a little better considering i ended up at the dr's and every thing..
although there are alot of mums on here that have said it sounds like my cycle is out of wack.. i still havent had my period which means it has been 56 days since the first day of my last AF!!!
as u can see i have been rather pacient..
my dr said if it doesnt come in about a week i shud do another test.. so thinking friday morning i should do a test. my dr seems to think taht maybe we have tested too early and taht im actually not ovulating 14 days after the first day of my period.. meaning that my cycle is longer. a friend of mine fell pregnant on a 7 week cycle! which could mean she ovulated on week 5. (approx)
its very confusing and am determined to keep others up to date with my siutation because although the books say when you should ovulate.. it seems there are alot of ladies that come across this situation.
and although being on the pill for so long me (9 years) u can actually fall straight away.. (although not always the case though)
hope to get my AF really soon its begining to become annoying.. my stomach constantly feels bloated!! i am getting pulls still but cud b my af.. but my boobs are tingly.. but then ive been working out at the gym so not sure if thats jst sore muscles.. i think its hard to go off symptoms tho because so ive been told from other ladies on here.. you wouldnt be getting some of the symptoms so early on.. so i think its easy to think they are a symptom but really we are just thinking about it way too much!
my cycle also has been a little longer each month but only about a week.. nothing more!

Wow what a long cycle!! Unless you are preggas!! Why wont they do a blood test? that would be the best way to find out.
I wouldnt do a cleanse as you may be pregnant and it may harm the baby.

Yes me and my fiance are trying for our first. We have been trying for about 9-10 months now without any luck. He has just gone for a sperm test and has come back with some abnormalities and has to be retested. We are prepared to go for iui if we have to, so long as we get the baby we want so much.

When are you going back to the drs?

they did do a blood test and its neg.. did a HPT this morning and its neg aswell.. so i dont kno what my body is doing.. im guessing that im defo not UTD.. but as to what else is happening i ahve no idea!!!

I totally understand what you are going through, I am currently waiting for AF, and it has now been 111 days since her last visit!!! I came off the pill in January, had 5 AFs with roughly 50 day cyles, and now nothing. I have been to the dr, and I am not UTD either :(

I have also had cramping where I though AF was definitely coming, but she was a no show. I had some spotting on saturday, and was so excited, but so far hasn't amounted to anything. I can't get to the dr now until mid december unfortunately.

So :hug::hug::hug::hug: for you cos I know just how frustrating it is, and i just want you to know that you are not alone! You should definitely go to the dr again on Thursday, and I hope you get some answers so you can continue on your TTC journey.

it has currently been about 90 days since my D&C ( for missed miscarriage at 12 weeks) and still no AF :wall:
i have a had defo signs of ov (cm, furning on MB, and prog of 79 with a drop 1 week later to 2) and wicked cramps (getting worse each month) 2 weeks after ov. but still no AF. at first i thought i was UTD and the HPT's were wrong, had BT BFN :cry:. went for ultrasound to check no cysts, fibroids (and baby). all was normal except fluid within uterine cavity (probably blood). my doc suspects a blockage (ie cervical stenosis or uterine adhesions (ashermans) ) or damage to my uterine lining :o
i know this is an extreme case and is totally not where you are, but for you and others to know that it is possible to ov and still have no AF.
i have followed your story and my guess is you are just having a weird cycle. i wish you all the best. hang in there

Um no not a low sperm count, I cant exactly remember what the dr said but we will know for sure in about 3 weeks. I couldnt believe the cost for a semen analasyst is ... $170!! what a rip off!!

u/s not so scary for me, i know my probs come from the D&C so knew i prob didn't have cysts etc, but was hopeing against hope there was a bubba !! i am booked into hossy in 3 weeks (after i ov again) so they can dilate, do a hystoscopy (camera) and to do a endometrial biopsy. hopefully this might fix me. my cramps this month (yesterday and today) were terrible need panadine forte to function. i can't go on like this !!

hopefully this means there is nothing wrong with me. i can cancel my hossy trip and we can get on with trying for our #3.
i think my massive cramps in the last 2 days were trying to soften my reluctant cervix.

wow! congrats teddy....never thought i'd be jealous of someone for getting their AF but i am!

52 days since the start of my last AF....will take another + - test today or tomorrow (already missed the first pee of the day so i may wait) ...i'll keep you posted but i have a feeling i'm just having a crazy cycle.......like you, amsta, I plan to visit the dr probably next week.....when i am suppose to get my next af..if i don't get one by that time i'll start to really worry...

i don't think i have been so happy since my DD was born. i haven't spoken to my doc yet, but feel sure he'll say theirs nothing stopping us continuing our TTC.

amster, has your doc done any hormone levels to see if he/she can pinpoint where in your cycle you are? if you get progesterone (and FSH, oestrogen, and LH) you can tell if ov has happened yet. thats how my doc found out that i most likely had a blockage, my prog was high (79), and he said "well you should get AF in 14 days, come back if you don't". well i went back when AF didn't show had another prog (2) that should have kicked off AF. it didn't thats how he knew there was a problem.
this gave me an absolute time frame rather than just "hanging".
your doc can also proscribe something if you haven't ov to bring on AF (i think it is progesterone), so you can hopefully kick start another cyle. but this wont tell you whats causing this delay, and you may endup here again.:comfort:

Thats great news.
I thought I would let you know that when my mum was pregnant with all us kids (now adults) no blood test would show up her pregnancy's, They only way they could tell was an ultrasound.
I have been told I am the same. I dont know how they can tell but apparently all us girls are the same.

Usually 2 lines does mean positive however there are some tests that can produce faint lines that are not true. What brand test did you use? Crystal Clear has a bad track record along with some internet brands. In saying that I had a very faint line when pg with DD on a crystal clear test and it took a week but finally got darker, Dr did a POAS test in between as well and was determind I was not pregnant. Maybe you should go for a blood test? Or wait for 3 days (I know 3 days seems like forever) and test again, by then it should be a darker line if it is in fact a BFP. Good luck! I hope that it is a true positive for you!!!

Don't give up quite yet... I edited my last post, I think while you were replying, to add...

what test would you recommend?? a friend of mine is pregnant and said to try one tonight.. but will it appear still?

I recommend First Response or Clearblue Digital (clearblue is more expensive but it either says pregnant or not pregnant).

It depends on how far along you would be as to wether testing tonight will pick it up. If you want to test tonight maybe get a 2 pack that way if it is too early to pick up you can try again in the morning when your levels are at their highest with the second test. I know how hard it is to wait even 12 hours until morning!

thank you.. i always thought that a HPT would only show a line if you had HCG levels in your system.. silly me! ill have a look at those tests tonight :)

Good luck Amsta. I had a really really really faint line with my first pregnancy. I tried two different brands and did three tests and all of them were really faint but it was definitely a positive. My doc did a POAS test and it was negative! But blood test came positive so hopefully faint line = positive for you xxxx
