I think you may have a chance. Best of luck
Hi Guys,
FF finally detected that i ovulated on the 23rd, so today i am 3 DPO. Unfortunately it only showed up today that i ovulated, so DH and I DTD today.
Any chance? or did we totally missed the boat?
I am current on CD71.
How accurate is FF?

I think you may have a chance. Best of luck
Anything is possible, after reading about different conceptions on BB and the web.
If you're interested... I find The Lunar Cycle very interesting. Check out menstruation.com.au/fertility/lunarcycle
The site notes:
The Moon can also trigger ovulation at any time during the menstrual cycle, regardless of when biological ovulation takes place. This means that a woman can be fertile or ovulate twice in a menstrual cycle. This is sometimes referred to as double ovulation or the Natal Lunar Phase Fertile Time.for a BFP for you

thank you thank you thank you ladies
i am hanging onto any glimmer of hope.
First time i actuallly saw Ovulation status change on FF LOL. Im a newbie on there so was surprised.
How do i use FF if it only shows ovulation after it has passed??
It's unlikely. The egg has a 8-24 hour life cycle, so you need the sperm there waiting before O to optimise your chances of conception.
I've found FF to be very accurate, assuming you're doing things right. I recommend you do the charting course on FF if you haven't already. Using natural family planning methods, you can only identify O 3 days after, because that's when you can measure a consistent temp rise. However, O can occur up to 2 days either side of the temp rise.
The main way to "predict" O is through identifying fertile cervical mucus. Some find using OPKs can help, but it can be expensive. A Maybe Baby can help you identify when you're nearing fertility, but I wouldn't bank on that either, as some people like me get full ferning after O. Others use digital ovulation monitors. These are also expensive, but if you have irregular cycles, they can help.
Looking at your chart, I wouldn't be 100% yet that O has occured - you have a lot of temps in that range previously. Which is why you have dotted crosshairs. Are cycles these length normal for you? If so, have you seen a doctor about it? Charts like that with temps all over the place can indicate PCOS. Alternatively, could you be pregnant?
GL. It takes time to learn how to chart properly. I hope it helps you.
Most definitely! DD1 was conceived 1DPO, DD2 3DPO and DD3 was 8DPO.
Thanks Tash
Yes I have PCOS. Since starting to chart on Jan, this is the longest cycle i have had.
I will be seeing a specialist on Oct to regulate my cycle but my cycle has never been irregular.
I didnt get any CM on that day but im not really good at determining CM.
I feel i dont trust my body signs anymore unfortunately =(
Thanks all for the support.
Your FF chart looks to me as though you were Oing when it indicates, probably over the next couple of days will give you a better indication.
GL
My DH travels a lot and we have to fit 'it' in whenever we can when TTC. i know i have fallen pregnant more than 3 days out!
BEST OF LUCK
Hi Danniim
what am i looking for in the next couple of days?
thanks in advance!
I think sometimes it is hard to know exactly when you are O'ing. Even if the chart says it is, it is always going to base it on what data you have put in. Usually 3 days after you O your temps will be higher than they previously were and this will show up clearly on your chart. I know the experts say that an egg can only be fertislied 24 hours after O as it then dies, but it cant hurt to try anyway just in case as there can always be exceptions to the rule (and particularly if you didnt have enough symptoms to be sure you ovulated on the day you thought). It is really hard too with long/irregular cycles. I have had more luck falling pregnant before O date as there is a bigger range there (3-5 days I think). Plus I was never sure about O until after the fact. Good luck!
Unfortunately we had to stop DTD seeing that my cycle was so long hence why we missed O day (if FF is correct)
I was waiting on AF to start again.
Thanks ladies.
Hun, fwiw, I don't think you've O'ed yetI guess only time will tell, but if your temps get a lot higher and on a different level in the next few days, that might be O...or if you get to 15dpo and bfn and no af, I'd say you still wouldn't have O'ed. Maybe you should see your doc about getting progesterone pills to bring on af? Xx
ah so hard to read these charts!! Ive prinited out the fertility friend handbook. Going to read it on the train.
The only thing that is keeping me from crying everyday is the support from you ladies
72 days and counting!!!!
Specialist booked on Oct 6th!
That's good! If you did O, you'll know by the FS appt, and if you haven't, you'll be given progesterone and this horrible cycle will be over! I know how you feel, a few cycles ago I had an 86 day cycle. I've since had one 29 day cycle with O on cd 17 (i have a varying LP, but it's usually 12 days), and this cycle it seems I've O'ed on cd 17 too! Good luck babe![]()
Maisy, I had a HyCoSy on....hmm, I think it was cd 9 of the next cycle after the 86 day one, which thankfully showed no blockages, but I think it's sort of cleaned things out a bit. Aside from that I didn't do anything. Lots of people take Vitex to help shorten their cycles, maybe you could try that (if you haven't already).
Hiya! Where you charting as well? FF is not as accurate as the sympto-thermal method - charting daily mucus changes every evening and basal body temperature first thing every morning. Unfotunately the egg usually only lives between 12-18 hours once released, so sperm either has to be there waiting or get there soon! The best way to track your ovulation is to chart symptoms (including any other signs such as when your ovulation pain is at its strongest). Your bb temp will rise immediately after ovulation occurs due to a sudden increase in progesterone. When you see this temp change, (usually .2 degrees above pre-ovulation temps) you can pretty much guarantee that you have o'd in the 12-24 hours prior. This way you can combine the mucus changes and temp changes, and work backwards - for example, you may see a pattern that you always seem to have 4 days of fertile clearish runny mucus before your first temperature rise. Sperm can live in fertile mucus conditions for up to 5 days but you want to BD closest to that temp change (ovulation) to increase your chances. The day of the first temp change (after ovulation) is also a high chance to conceive considering the life span of the egg. There are other factors that can cause a spike in bb temp (ie illness, alcohol, not taking temp around the same time every morning etc) but you can learn how to chart them and distinguish between ovulation temp spike and other factors.
I work in Natural Family Planning so please don't hesitate to pm me or send me your chart!!

Hon - I just noticed your cycle length above. This is an indication of quite a severe hormonal imbalance. Have you recently been on or come off the pill? The best thing you can do to address this is get to a Naturopath who specialises in Natural Fertility Management asap. They will be able to recommend dietary changes and remedies that will rectify the imbalance and bring your cycle length back down to approximately 30 days. This will also improve the quality of the egg released. You may wish to look into switching to an alkaline diet also - this can assist in balancing hormones and enhances fertility in general. HTH
