You CAN ovulate while breastfeeding
Hi all... not sure if I am in the right forum for this question (sorry if I am not)..... ok now to the silly question...can you still ovulate while BF?? I have just noticed that (TMI warning) CM has changed and my cervix is high???? It's just that DH are not activitly TTC but we have BD with no protection (yes I know risky!) and if we did fall pg YAY - though maybe a little to soon me thinks... gee am I making any sense???
What I am trying to say is that after we BD'd I think that I was o'ing!! Just a little worried.....
Any advice would be great...
Thanks in advance
Cheers

You CAN ovulate while breastfeeding
Absolutely. I fell prg with our second baby while I was breastfeeding our first baby.
AF returned after 6 months, so I was ovulating from then on.
You can ovulate without return of AF!!!!!
Yep, that's true, sorry, didn't mean to imply that you are only ovulating once AF returns.
I assume that was the case for me though.
I ovulated when (fully BF) DD was 5 weeks old. So YES!

Hi,
Yes, you can ovulate whilst breastfeeding. The general rule is that if your baby is under 6mnths old, fully breastfeeding (no bottles) is not on solids and you don't have your period, you won't ovulate. But there are rare exceptions. If you know your body well you will be tuned in to the signs

I have fallen pregnant with 3 of my 5 babies while fully breastfeeding, within the 6 months range twice, and no af!!! So anything can happen!!!
Hi ya lovely ladies,
Thanks so much for your replies, it is greatly appreciated
If I became pg I would be stokedbut me thinks we should be a little more careful
Once again thanks ladies
