a question on how long after conception?

just a quick question on how long after doing the deed will it take to know results i.e if your pregnant?
im not asking the soonist about of time, just by about what time (how many weeks after conception/sex) would you be able to get a result?

they do say to be absolutely sure to wait 18 days before testing

two weeks is the average, but yeah, 18 days, and if you're utd you should have a bfp by then...although, some women don't get them until even after that. Good luck

well i tested 13 days after the deed and a BFN
i guess ill wait a week and see what happens...

I tested 10 days after DTD and got a faint positive.

yeh last time i tested 12 days after but i used a 'first response' this tim eim a little broker and used a cheaper one..

I was always led to believe about 2 weeks - definitely with blood tests. I used to do a lot of preg tests when I was in pathology, and blood test is good after about 10 days, as thats how long it takes for detectable hcg to appear in the blood. Pee test it may take a little longer, as your kidneys can filter out some of the beta-hcg, so really low levels may not show straight away. If ever in doubt, go to the docs and get a blood test - always more reliable.

I would have to say it would depend on when you ovulate. If you DTD say 4days before you ovulate then 2weeks later you test you would still be only 10days since conception. Certainly possible to get a BFP then but you could also be pregnant and it show a BFN. If you ovulated before you DTD then your likely to be able to test earlier IYKWIM. It really would depend on how long since ovulation over how long since DTD as the sperm can live for several days prior to fertilising the egg as to how soon a test would be reliable.
