CM -- what should it look like?

As a first time ttc, I have only very recently been really looking at the stuff my body produces, and cm is one of those things of course...
But I hazard to ask, what should it look like (a) during ovulation (b) just before and after menses and (c) at any other time such as not ovulating or near menses...

I am ovulating right now and my cm is thick, mostly clear with a tint of white (sometimes a tint of yellow, but that could simply be because I just went to the toilet and my pee is yellow)....
I know, I know, TMI.... but I just am curious, I don't know if my CM is normal, or otherwise icky and I should get it looked into.

    Hi Moondance,

I have been TTC for over 6 months now and here is what I know about CM.

CM should be similar to raw egg white and if it stretches between your fingers for an inch or more this is usually a good sign that your ovulating.
Everyone is different with CM and how much you produce, also illness and medications etc can affect CM.

For me usually after I ovulate it goes to thick creamy CM up until my period.

after my period there is usually nothing then I get some creamy CM, it then becomes a bit more watery until I reach ovulation again.

I know this may seem like TMI, but hope it helps

I do not think you are having any problems your CM is probably normal as I said it's a little different for everyone and also different factors can affect, as you continue your TTC journey you will learn more about it all and be able to tell where you are at.

There are some really great articles out there even on belly belly so have a read they may help put your mind at ease.

I wish you all the best with your TTC journey and may it be a short one for you..
