I'm wondering if it is possible to conceive despite a long cycle. When I mean long, I mean 45 days or thereabouts. Just curious. I'm waiting to see if we were successful, though I'm not getting my hopes up.
As you can probably gather I have a long cycle ATM. Possible non-ovulation too, though I'm not totally incapable as I have two sons . Ob/Gyn wants me to go on clomid next AF if we're not successful this cycle. Currently a waiting game ...
Thanks Ahurani.
Yep, cycle was up the putt prior to DS1 - clomid helped us conceive.
DS2 was a surprise package - I didn't actually get AF back after DS1. Geez, guess that means my cycle must've been about CD380 (we conceived around the time DS1 turned 1). LOL!
I wouldn't be at all surprised if I've had an anovulatory cycle, but O symptoms this cycle were considerably more prominent. Probably clutching at straws but I'm realistic.
Crazy cycles, longest was 86 days. Usually around 35-40ish. Half those cycles were annovulatory. My ovulation date always differed, and the most frustrating was a LP that varied! Anywhere from 10-15 days, which was just awful, and lead to two chemical pregnancies But here I am now, 38 weeks pregnant So there is definitely hope. Are you charting your cycles? Even thought that drove me crazy at some times, it really was super useful in attempting to find a pattern to my cycles; anything that would give me a clue as to what was going on. Also good for tracking dtd.
I never ended up using Clomid, had the script all ready to go for the next cycle, but we ended up falling naturally on cycle 23! We did use Vitex earlier in our TTC journey but we forgot about it after a while, but that is supposed to help regulate cycles, have you tried it?
Hello back PZ!! Thanks and "snap" LOL.
Yep, I'm charting cycles. One thing I am noticing is that my CDs are getting shorter - not by much though. After my first AF post-DS2, my CD was 55 or something crazy with an LP of 6. This cycle I believe I O'd on CD30 - 10 days earlier than any other cycle (post DS2).
The Ob/Gyn seemed to think I have pcos - a "diagnosis" given very loosely (not a single test), and one I'm at odds with. Obviously something's not quite right, but pcos? As far as I'm concerned I'm not a "fit" for pcos, but I won't waffle on further ... I vented about that a few weeks back in another thread . Haven't tried Vitex, but have been taking Royal jelly for the past couple of months
Good luck with the impending birth of your little bubba!
I also don't fit the typical PCOS patient, not overweight, no hair issues. But, I *do* have PCO, just the polycystic ovaries, but without the syndrome which leads to a lot of the symptoms. I have quite a few cysts on both ovaries, mainly my pesky left one. I was diagnosed first by the PCOS bloodwork coming back neg, then a few scans on my ovaries. So might be something worth considering, because like you I knew I didn't 'fit' PCOS exactly.
I never took Royal Jelly but it's supposed to work wonders, apparently it has somany health benefits! I hope it works for you. Otherwise, Clomid works wonders for people who need a bit of a 'boost', I know many people who got utd on their first few cycles I'll be stalking and hoping that's you!
Yup I have pcos and I ovulated on day 26 and conceieved my DD that cycle!
I have quite bad pcos with the hair loss, weight, black hairs, etc. My longest cycle was over 100 days, and an average being about 6-8 weeks. I didn't do anything special except chart my temps

Thanks all - you've given me some hope. As I mentioned earlier, I'm fairly realistic about things, so if even we didn't get lucky this cycle hopefully we will soon.
