evaporation line or positive??

hi there,

please help.

iv been trying to conceive for 6months now and im past desprate!! im 8 dpo and i used fmu and tested this morning..... was a bfn but later in a different light it could kinda looked like a bfp..... but because it showed up after the time limit does this make it a def neg??? iv been testing heaps over the last 6 months with the same brand test "quick card" and havnt had any evaporation lines before arrrr its so confusing especially beacuse i want it so bad! has anyone alse been in the same situation?? what was the out come?? has anyone had evaporation lines with this brand??? i cant find much on line about this brand in regards to evaporation lines.

any comments would be aprecated. thank you.

a line is a line I say but I would test again in a few days.

thank you for the reply, i dont want to get excited as i dont want a big let down im holding out till 10 dpo to do another test..... are evaporation lines very common??

I've never heard of that brand of test but I got a lot of evap lines with a brand called forelife or foretel or fore something lol I don't like those types of tests personally. I prefer ones like First Response, they seem a lot clearer and I never got evap lines with them. It was positive or negative.

The same thing happened to me (different brand though) when I was PG with DS, I threw the test away thinking it was a BFN but later got it out to have another look (I was convinced I was PG) and under VERY bright light I could just see a line....9mths later, a bouncing baby boy.

its really hard to know but im still feeling hopfull! hope tomorrows test at 10 dpo is a bfp. thanx for your suportive comments

Hi Billykat, the same thing happened to me and i turned out to be preg. I think it can seem to trick you if its very early on (thats what my doctor told me anyway) and the lines get more obvious the further along you get. I'll have my fingers crossed for you today x

Same thing happen to me - it was so faint you had to tilt the test in the light to see the second line. It was a really sensitive test too (was suppose to be) - I am 8 weeks pregnant now, it definitely was a positive. I retested 2 days later, and the line was still faint but definitely there, no bright lights required.

i got a BFN today (10 dpo) could still be pregers i guess (hope) and its to early to test but that line really was just an evaporation line!!!! wish everyone the best with there beauiful arrivels and i hope i wont be to far behind.

the same thing happened again, well after the time limit another line showed up.... im sure its still an evap line!! came out of the same box as the other, maybe its that batch!

I dunno... Im still thinking your UTD. How long after does the line appear?

I think just keep testing.
If you are UTD it should get darker & happen earlier.
It is still pretty early, so I wouldn't say BFN yet.
I did a test at 8 weeks & the line was berely there, but I was UTD. Just depends on how much HCG is in your body at the time. It builds up as the pregnancy progresses. Which is why the line can be faint or dark.

i accually rang the company..... they said an evaporation line happens but hardly ever and very unlikly to happen in two test in a row but because they appeared after the time limit its hard to tell but the women said that even though it sez on the box that you can test from 7-10 days after conception they dont accually recommend it so ither i was unlucky to get these random evap lines or im testing way to ealry and that that the test is strugling to show a bfp....... they are sending me a free test and said i need to wait till af is due.... thats only 3 days away now and i doubt the test will even be here before then any way.

I wouldn't believe anything that shows after the time limit personally. I hoep you get your BFP. Def try a different brand in a few days. Best of luck.

Good luck! Hopefully it is a BFP. I tested before my period was due and got a negative, then I tested when my period was due, still BFN, it took 5 days after my period was due until I got that faint line I was talking about. As said by someone else, it just depends though how much hcg is in your body. Actually I didn't look at my tests after the 5-10 minutes, I'm kind of thinking I should have though!!! Oh well.
