Cramping question

Hi All

I have a question about cramping....
I am 7 days past ovulation (the TWW wait is so frustrating!) but while my CM has settled down, for the past 3 days have had uncomfortable sharpish pains/cramping on my right side. Its almost like O pains or what I would liken it to, but its a little confusing. According to my OPK I ovulated or was very close anyway!
I know its too early to test or even think about it but have any of you ladies experienced anything like this that you could help me with?
Any reasurance would be lovely........thanks in advance

Hi Aries,

I am currently only 4 days post ovulation and have been getting those sharp cramping pains in my pelvic region to my right side. I was hoping its just the little one trying to implant but I know its a little early too but possible. It would be great to know if other people experience this so early :-)

4DPO would be too early for implantation unfortunately - essentially until at least 7dpo, the embie isn't developed enough for implantion. i got horrific (like doubled over) implantation pain for each pg i've had - it was very distinct - wasn't like a cramp, was more like a stabbing pain. for the single sided pain, one thing it might be is your ovary being a bit swollen and forming a lovely little corpus luteum cyst. you'll find each cycle you create a lovely little progesterone producing cyst that will, if pg, support the pg through until placenta takes over - the cyst can end up being large and painful, and cause the ovary to swell a little (or in my case, grow to 20+ times it's normal size, but mine was forced ovulation with drugs which helped - or hindered!)

you do become so much more aware of every twinge in your body when actively ttc... one thing to keep in mind (which my ob only explained to me this week) is that your uterus contracts (like braxton hicks) all the time - whether pg or not - and when you're concentrating on what is going on down there , you'll notice it more!

Lea - something else to keep in mind - i had an IUI (as i believe you did too) - i ended up conceiving up to four days after the IUI itself this cycle - so it's possible your pains are lingering o pains. and having had an IUI, you'll find that your body has been forced to open and accept "foreign" matter when you were catheterised for the procedure - i found after every transfer (we had 8 in total with the IVF transfers) i would find my cervix and uterus would be a bit "niggly" for a few days cos it didn't like it...

Hi Lea

I unfortunately got AF a week later after being put in hospital for suspected ectopic pregnancy. Thank goodness it wasnt and I went on to have a really painful time!!! I had a laparoscopy 6 weeks before & my body was just playing tricks for the first AF after the op (so the FS told me).
I hope it is implantation for you & wish you the best of luck
AFM I am ovulating now...... so you know what that means

Thanks for that girls. Well The pain tonight has gotten worse and around into my lower back. I also have discharge from my nipples, more since the pain started in my pelvis. I was pretty shocked about that. What do you think, its such early days!

Lea79 - another one of the girls on this site mentioned she had discharge from her nipples (very early on, before AF's due date) and she ended up getting a BFP so good luck!!!
