    Diet shakes and pregnancy...

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any info on the effect that diet shakes have on pregnancy? Earlier this year I had used Celebrity Slim for 6 wks and lost 8kgs, then I fell pregnant unexpectantly so I stopped using it as soon as I found out that I was pregnant. Unfortunately I had an ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks, and I am wondering whether perhaps the shakes may have contributed to the abnormal pregnancy? I have been so down on myself since I lost my baby that I have put on 6kgs and want to lose the weight again (and some more if possible) - but I also want to start trying for a baby again soon, and I'm worried that if I fall pregnant again before I start 'trying' that taking CS again may contribute to yet another ectopic pregnancy. Any info would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure about Celebrity Slim, but I do know Herbalife is ok to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Try not to look for things that you could have possibly contributed to, for the reason of your etopic pg. Unfortunately, these things happen, for no apparent reason. It's not your fault. You did not cause this to happen

first of all sorry for your loss! secondly great job loosing 6kg!! i'm not sure about celbrity slim either but the one at the chemist (cant remember which chemist) has one called 'Betty Baxter' and i was on that while breastfeeding and it also said you could do it while pregnant. you should go in an have a look. i think it is best to carry on with exercise and eating small/average amounts of healthy food and you should see some results with just doing that but by all means pop in to a few chemists and see what they say.

    Hi Jodi and Hollo,
Thanks for your replies, I guess I'm just wanting to know whether or not it's safe to get back on CS to lose the weight, but at the same time I don't want it to have an adverse affect on the pregnancy should I fall unknowingly, and then keep using the shakes for the first few weeks before I find out that I'm definitely pregnant.. (hope that all makes sense??!!!)
