    dilemma

    I know another silly q.

I'm wondering how early HCG will show up in a BT. The reason being, in my job I have to go and do a pistol shoot, which is next Wednesday. But you can't do it if you suspect you may be pregnant - even the slightest possibility. BUT I have to do this shoot cos it's the only time I can mange it while DH is at home and I have to do it before the financial year is out.

I'm pretty sure I've just had O (I have very weird and early O on day 6-10) and we're currently at day9. We've been BDing like crazy. We are trying to be pregnant, but I can't risk it.

Even though I'm almost certain I won't fall this cycle becasue it has been weird, I can't risk going if there is a possibility so I'm planning on going and asking my GP for a BT on Monday (cos it takes 2 days for the results). Would it be reliable.

If anyone has any knowledge of firearms would it be too early to be a risk?

Sorry for the long winded, but I'm a bit stressed over it.

The eggie probably won't have implanted yet, and as the eggie makes the hCG then it won't show up.

From day 10-15 (days post ovulation, that is) the hCG starts to show up USUALLY (there are some people who are in their second trimester before it shows up, can't remember who it was now!), so it's good to wait until your period is late before you test, that way you're fairly sure of seeing hCG if it's going to be there.

If you are pregnant, the baby is well buffered in there and running, jumping, climbing trees, fitting bathrooms etc won't make a jt of difference.

    HTH.

There should be no reason for the gunfire (noise or otherwise) impacting on a pregnancy at that stage. As Ryn said, if the egg hasn't implanted there will be no HCG rise. A pregnancy that early is still many cells that are yet to differentiate so get the shoot out of the way and, to my knowledge, there should be nothing to worry about even if you are pregnant. Good luck (with the shoot and the pregnancy )

Kim, my family have been shooters from way back. Very competetive and both my father and my sister are on one of the state teams... I stopped about 10 years ago because of a shoulder problem.

Anyway, there's never been any rules about not being able to shoot while pregnant. In fact, my mother shot the whole way through her pregnancies with my sister and myself, and my sister was shooting the whole way through her pregnancy with my nephew.

Especially this early on, the noise isn't going to have any impact at all. Perhaps later on it may become more of a problem.

And just so you know... both my sister and my mother would shoot better when they were pregnant.

Good luck with the shoot and the TTC.

Ooh - Kim - good luck! If you hit the bullseye, it might mean a BFP!
