Question food in the 2 week wait

Do I change what I eat during the 2ww in case I might be pregnant? ... to avoid listeria

    TIA

It depends on the person, some people do & others don't. Realistically there isn't going to be a problem until implantation occurs, 7-10DPO. That said, I'm one that is a bit careful during the TWW, I don't drink at all & be more careful than normal with foods.

Hi Tia, im abit more careful too, i tend to watch everything i put in my body during the tww but that said- that's just me. Im not a dr but i think the most important thing to do is just be sensible about it, eg everything in moderation. I also dont drink in the ttw but i recently had a wedding to attend and i did have some wine but i wasnt overly concerned.

It's jsut me but I try to avoid all the 'danger food' as much as possible as I have read that it can stay in your body up to 3 months. On the main site it does say symptoms can take up 3-70 days to develop. I do have a bit of wine, but try and minimise it as much as possible. Like many things it is up to you and your decision what you do

Great question Tictac. I've been wondering about this too. In the TWW I don't worry too much about the food and I will have a wine once or twice during that time. I do try to keep the alcohol to before expected implantation time though. I would of course prefer not to drink but no-one knows we're TTC and I don't want to start my in-laws talking

I'll continue to minimize the alcohol (and avoid it altogether if no-one's watching!) but I think I'll watch the food a bit more closely this time around if Listeria can take a while to develop.

I agree princi - great question! I am much the same as princ i sill drink around others as i don't want them to know i am TTC.. my friends already have their eye on me, they all keep offering me booze just to see if i am pregnant.. i know that is their reason. I try to keep it at 1 drink a day, but not always sucessful. I am not to concerned about food, enjoy it while i can i think!!

I tend to avoid alcohol in the TWW, but I don't worry about food until I know I am pg.

Listeria is rare as hen's teeth in Australia anyway.

I don't worry about what I eat as it's very uncommon to get listeria in Australia.

I do however watch what I drink - I keep the caffeine intake right down so no coffee & no cola - actually I do this all the time just in case I am pg and just don't know it yet.

I also keep alcohol to a minimum in the two week wait - just one drink is all I have if I have anything at all.

When I was pregnant I was far stricter I didn't touch a drop of alcohol and avoided heaps of things including all junk food.... it didn't help though... I still miscarried.
