    Question does anyone know??????

    hello,
dp and I tried for 18mths to get pg, finally managed that in june last year, but then I mc at 9wks, we have been ttc ever since, I have tried temping but am totally useless at it, have been using opks and just trying to bd at the right times......but no success as yet.
anyway, so now I am considering going to my gp to see if something is wrong with me, I had a lap and hysteroscopy a few years ago to rule out endo and pcos, I have always had pretty regular cycles, so no real probs there.
I know that sometimes the thyroid can cause probs if out of whack, but does anyone know what else I should be asking for???
any help would be greatly appreciated, forewarned is forearmed and all that!
    thanks.

Starrysky, a doctor should know which tests to run to investigate problems with falling pregnant. I suspect that the best way to make sure things get tested thoroughly is to get a referral from your GP instead of blood tests and then go see an FS who you can pretty much guarantee will know what to look for. Just because you go see an FS doesn't mean you're automatically forced to go and do invasive IVF - there's actually quite a lot of things they can do in order to help out and most of them are treatments that your GP will not be able to prescribe.

    Good luck.

    Hi starrysky
There are some things a gp can start testing which save time while waiting for your FS appt. You can get hubbies semen analysed. and there are is a blood test(can't remember the exact name) which is done on a certain day of your cycle to check for ovulation. You can also get a hysterosalpingogram done through a GP which is a scan where they put in a dye to check your tubes are patent. These are some of the things I could have already had done to save time. It takes so much time to get an appt with your FS each time and it is good to have these tests ready as the FS will most likely order them to try to get a clearer picture of any possible problem. I was able to bulk bill the SA+ blood test but paid for the scan.
    Hope this helps a bit.

I have NOOOO experiance in this catagory, but I agree with Slyder.
Friends of ours had trouble and it was a problem with the husband, after they extentively tested her, maybe you two could go together?

i agree with everything said by the others

i was in a similar situation and went to the drs, i just told him the details and he knew what to do.

I had numerous blood tests and an ultrasound, then a laparoscopy, then the dr said before we went any further with testing he would like to test Dhs semen. A week after the semen test was done i went back to the dr and he said Oh you here for the results of the semen test then? i said ah nope, im pregnant lol 2 days before that i had got a BFP! The dr said well Dhs semen was all fine any how and we had a laugh and joked about how that was a good thing considering i was pregnant My ds is now almost 7 months.

So do go to the dr hun it will make you feel better knowing if there's an issue or not. It does take courage to finally go, i kept putting it off! But "YOU CAN DO IT" if i was there i would hold your hand and take you there. Good luck with it all. let us know how you go.
