I'm looking for people who have ttc after Mirena removal. Can you really start straight away or does it take a few cycles for everything to settle back down. I still have mine in at the moment so I'm trying to work out the best time to have it removed. We aren't going to start ttc till the end of the year so I'm wondering is it better to get it out in the near future or does having it removed not affect your cycle?
Officially you can get pregnant immediately. I remember my dr warning me when it was removed. So yes, you 'can' start TTC immediately. That is no guarantee that *your* cycle will be perfectly normal straight away, though.
I would suggest going to see your GP a few months before you are ready to TTC, have a chat about preparing to TTC. Certain things, like immunisations, should be given we'll before starting. And there might be other tests and health checks your go thinks is appropriate. Then you can book an appt for removal of the Mirena when you are ready to actually start TTC.
I had mirena taken out end of November last year and pregnant Xmas time
Took no time at all !! I did have 1 cycle was very heavy then bam pregnant . We thought it would take a good 9 months
Our doc did say you are basically fertile again as soon as removal and to try straight away if that's what we wanted
