Exclamation Excuse to start work late so I can go in for IUI (Just start the job)

    HHHHHEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP
Can anyone help me with excuses on going into work late.
I have just started with this bank and I start work @ 9am.
My IUI is at 9.30am 45 minutes away.
So I will need to be 2 hours late.
What sort of excuses have you used in the past. I dont want them to know we are trying.
    What can I do????????

    xx

Could you just say you have a specialist appointment? I wouldn't think that you would need to go into too much detail - you may have to provide certificates though so that might be a downfall of that plan...

mmm I will keep thinking (I work in HR so have heard all the excuses under the sun)

    Wicked thansk TK.
Its good to have someone on the inside
I was thinking about ringing my boss at 8.45 and saying that my doctor is running late (Very apologetic of course).
you see. i'm not serving customers I am a home finance manager. My boss doesnt work with me, he wroks in the city. I dont have any appointments yet as I have just started.

are you able to work flex hours at all?? my job allowed me to work flex so all my appointments were either really early or really late in the day, and i'd just say i had an appointment and would be late or have to leave early and they were fine. i told them it was either a specialist appointment or i had to have tests (depending on what the appointment was) - if you have to provide a med cert, be aware it will most likely have the doctors details listed as either a fertility specialist or a reproductive endocrinologist, so it's going to out you either way (if your boss is half switched on!)

    hey bee
telling the truth but not the whole truth always works for me, then you dont have to keep up with the lie... doctors appt yes, but no details necessary and if anyone asks you could maybe say blood tests or your not sure whats wrong??? i reckon telling them your going to be late beforehand would be better than calling too, shows them your honest and reliable

I agree with Jords, the truth is always the best way to go. I probably wouldn't go into too many details as its none of their business. Answer any questions simply and honestly; if they even ask any.

I think just saying a medical appointment, if they ask you could just say something about abnormal periods or something like that, people usually leave you be once you start talking about the nitty gritty of periods PMSL.
