    Smile First Time TTC

    Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to start this thread to see if we could a list together of first-time-mums-to-be who are currently TTC. The TTC Buddies forum is fantastic and the experience of the other mums cant be underestimated, but as a newbie, I thought it might be nice to chat to other women in the same boat about trying to start a family and all the excitement and confusion etc that comes with it.

    Cheers, BL

    Hi there,

I'm very new to all of this. Just stumbled across the site looking everywhere for whatever info I can find. Very excited about TTC. Only recently decided we were going to go for it...finally. Been procrastinating for proabably 2 years. Trying not to be too vocal with friends and family...but I'm struggling. It's very hard not to spread exciting news.

    Cheers

    Bec

Think this is a great idea - often thought about that myself...
I am going to be a first time mum, and we were lucky enough to get pregnant first go....

Oh good, I will keep popping my head in too and see who is here.

Hey AliciaK, I know you from the other thread, congrats on your pg and on first time too. Now that its finally happened are you nervous as well as excited? Everyone talks about the excitement, but I reckon there has to be an element of 'what have we got ourselves into?!' Is there?
I'm hoping this is going to be my month so I guess I will find out!
Welcome Bec. I'm new here too and have found this site very welcoming. Hope your stay is short and sweet and you are up-the-duff in no time. The TTC Buddies thread is great too and has lots of great people with really good advice there as well.

    Baby dust to all!
    Cheers, Jen

Hi guys. We are TTC #1 too.
    It's very exciting isn't it!!!!
I went off the pill at the start of June, but it's messed everything up, have only had a couple of cycles, 55 days, then 44 days. Currently in the TWW (I think). Not temping or anything, just looking at the other signs so I think I ovulated on Saturday. I really hope this is the month for all of us. If it is it will be really freaky. Sometimes I have weird dreams where I find out things I didn't know, like if I lose something I dream about where it is and it's there!!! Or dream about things that are going to happen. ANYWAY....on Saturday night (the night of possible conception) I was asleep and DH was trying to get to sleep and apparently I sat up and said 'How many will there be' and he said 'What are you talking about, how many what' and I said 'Babies', and he said 'Are you awake' and I just layed down and went back to sleep. I must have been talking in my sleep. Now DH and I are like 'omg that would be so freaky if that was the time I got pregnant, and why was I asking how many?? What if I had twins, hahahahaha. But I have no idea what I was dreaming about I can't remember, it could have been someone else.
Anyway, a bit off track, lol.

About TTC#1, what are you guys excited, worried, whatever, about? I'm so excited to see what a little baby me and DH made will look like!!! But worried about how much it will cost, We're sure we can afford it but I just hope we haven't really underestimated it or something.

Hoping for BFP's for everyone this month!!!!

Hi all, to put in my 2 cents I'm also TTC for the first time. I stopped taking the pill in Feb07 and know what SaraJane is going through. My cycle is totally wonky. The husband is getting anxious but I am trying not to as I was expecting my body to go a bit haywire after being on the pill for a while. I am really new to all of this so I know I have alot of reading to do.

    Hello as well
We are TTC for the first time too - have been putting it off for many reasons over the years - first I was ill for a couple of years after we got married then when I recovered we want to travel etc.. we are both now UBER ready. I have not been on the pill (just does not agree with me & my migraines)
but for some reason my last 2 cycles have been really weird. Today I am 14 DPO - did a test yesterday and it was a BFN - I am contemplating going and getting a blood test as some of the ladies on here have told me stories about hpt not always being correct. I am fairly sure I am not preggy but I just want to know for sure taht way when AF does turn up (whenever that may be) I can then go to the GP and discuss my last two strange cycles. Typical isn't it my cycles have always been fairly normal and now we are TTC they have gone CRAZY!!!
    Good luck to everyone
I am sure when we all get BFP its going to be very exciting and scary at the same time - can't wait

Seems like BC messes everyones cycles up! I have just had Implanon removed and hoping that everything is going back to normal...whatever normal is! After all these years on BC I really can't remember what my cylce is! I'm hving probs with taking temp each day and charting my cycle. Because we are travelling, we wake up at different times and in different places so I'm not sure how accurate the temp info is going to be.

I guess my fears with having babies and starting the family is not so much affording them, but whether or not I'm going to be a good mum (or will I go out of my head with boredom?) and how will it affect my relationship with DF...we have a fantastic relationship and I only hope that having a 'Mini Us' will make it even better.

Do you ladies live near your families or away? Apart from being on the other side of the world at the moment, when I get home I will still be away from family and moving to an area where I don't know anyone. Do you think that babies groups and mothers groups will be supportive? Having no experience of them, I just dont know! I hope they will be.

to all and its really nice to be able to talk to other ladies in the same situation!

    Hi all,

I'm really nervous after finally going ahead withTTC...now I'm starting to panic too. Can we afford it, is our relationship going to survive the added pressure/stress. But money is definately my biggest concer with the mortgage. I really don't want the added pressure of financial stress at what is supposed to be an exciting part of our life. But I know once we're pg all that won't matter.

    Good luck to all....

    Cheers
