just a quick question i usually get o pain and ewcm at the same time does this mean that it is this point i am o. should i wait another 12 or so hours to dtd to try and sway for a boy? not long till we try now fingers crossed..

I would say BD when you have the most EWCM... if you wait too long you will have a O+12 attempt which is a swaying technique for a girl....

THE GIRL DIET
Daily recommended supps Calcium 800mg, Magnesium 300mg, Vitamin D (also cut out as much sodiuma and potasium - read your lables)
Suppliments
Every day of the cycle
Calcium (1200 mg a day) take from af to O calcium in the cm helps to sway for a girl
Magnesium (250 mg a day)take from af to O Mag. in the cm helps to sway for a girl
Folic Acid (450 mcg a day)take all the time THIS DOES NOT SWAY! IT PREVENTS BIRTHDEFECTS AND PREVENTS MC
Acidilophis (2 a day) take from af to OThis is taken to lower pH. side effects: this is a funny supplment. Either it will lower your pH dramaticaly or you will raise it. It is different for different people
B6 (100 mg a day) Take all the time, but when you get a bfp you need to ween off slowly- if you take 100 this means the next week you take 80, then the next week 60 then 40, 20, 10 then stop. This is taken to raise progestrone and legthen luteal phase. Side efffects: When taken before O it may dealy O. It will also legthen your luteal phase
Chasteberry (Vitex) (500 mg a day) this has progestrone so you need to treat it the same as you would with b6
Tums (whenever you think about it- isn’t necessary to take this and calcium since it is the same thing)
Every day from AF to O
Cranberry (total of 1,500 to 10,000 mg a day if possible) take from af to O this is taken to lower pH side effect: cranberry can not be taken after O as it can cause mc. Cranberry is a blood thinner so if you already taking a blood thinner do not take this.
Lydia Pinkham (take from af to O) this is taken to raise progestrone and regulate cycles side effect: This will either make your cycles regural or screw them up
Before sex
Sudafed (or Claratin D, etc.) (a few hours before sex) this is taken to lower pH and dry up cm
Husband take
Cranberry (as much as he’ll take) side effect: blood thinner.. see above
Any of the other supplements you are taking if he’ll take them except Vitex or Lydia Pinkham.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR DIET
It is important that you understand the principles which form the basis of this diet. Essentially it requires you to eat foods that are rich in calcium & magnesium but low in potassium & sodium. This must be strictly adhered to if you are to gain maximum benefit from it.
Why are these restrictions necessary?
Tea,Coffee & Alcohol
Each cup of tea or coffee causes you to lose calcium from your body. Alcohol with its diuretic effect also causes the kidneys to excrete more calcium than they would normally
Chocolate: This is very high in potassium & contains oxalates which bind with calcium & make it unusable
Wheat Bran: This contains phytates which also rob the body of calcium. For eg., for every 100g of bran that is eaten the body loses 350 mg calcium
Meat: Restricted because of its high protein content. If you eat more than 120g protein a day you begin to enter a dietary range where the protein will cause calcium loss.
Sugar: Heavy intake of sugar will cause you to lose calcium through excess excretion. It is recommended that you keep your sugar intake to less than 60 g per day
Important Facts To Note
Always drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. It is important to drink this amount as it will help the body to dissolve & to absorb the increased calcium that is being taken in, whether from food or supplements. Calcium cannot be absorbed well or excreted safely without water.
Do not attempt this diet if you suffer from poor kidney function .This could result in kidney stones due to the increased calcium intake.
Commence the diet & mineral supplements 6 -10 weeks before a planned conception.
It must be stressed that the diet should only be undertaken with careful medical or naturopath supervision. It is recommended to have a check up before starting & to continue regular check ups whilst on the diet to ensure that excessive electrolyte imbalance is avoided.

Douching an hour before is critical for this to work. Then the new step for ttc a girl starts a ? hour after bd or tbm. After having your hips elevated for ? hour take a mixture of vinegar and distilled water and place it in a douche bag (you want about ? the bag full or about 60-80 ml or 2-2.5 oz ) and insert it into the vj. Then take a lime soaked tampon and place it in there to prevent leakage- you can remove this ? hour later. The following is explanation on how to make the mix, the pickle vinegar tampon, and other info
*For the mix you want this to have a pH of 4 (2-2.5oz of distilled water and 5ml of vinegar). The study this is based on uses vinegar.
*To make a vinegar soaked tampon you put vinegar in a plastic cup and soak the tampon while still in the plastic applicator. Right before inserting take the tampon out so that it isn't dripping. Then you insert it while still lying down and leave it in for about 30 minutes.

DH and I have decided to ttc #3 at the end of the year. Firstly we would love a healthy bubby but we would also really love a "blue: bundle. We have 2 DD's one 2.8 years and bub is 7 months!!! Obviously we have the pink recipe, so now we need the blue recipe.
I have heard that a womens ph can help to determine the sex of a bub. I have also seen some ph sticks on Lullaby Conceptions.
Does anyone know how this works?

I have two little boys and I want to try for a girl this time around.... heres what I have been doing...
At the moment I am taking Calcium and Magnesium tablets, a Pregnancy Multi, Cranberry tablets. I have been looking at the Shettles Method and have a really early cut off day so as not to get too close to ovulation.
I have also been looking at O+12 but am still abit wary about this as it seems so close to ovulation that I'm not sure how its possible to get anything but a boy!!
Has anyone had success conceiving a girl using either the Shettles or O+12 methods?

I have four beautiful healthy boys and would desparately love a little girl to complete our family. We havent started trying yet as this is our last chance and I really dont want to get it wrong. I have bought the opk and Ph kits from ebay and have read up a little (so much info) about diet, supplements, books etc.
On a personal note though I need to be in the right head space for this and I dont think I am just yet. I have just found out my brother is having a little girl and I am very jealous. Happy for them of course but I want it to be me. My last son was supposed to be our last and I was upset for days when we discovered he was a boy. Dont get me wrong I love him to death and cant imagine not having him but I am really scared of my reaction if we have another son.
I am incrediably grateful for my boys and their health but I cant help but think of the little girl I want so badly.
Does anyone else feel this way? Scared to get pregnant but scared not to?

Feeling quite frustrated this arvo.
Last night i purchased some more calcium and magnesium tabs cause i was nearly out. I actually got some that are stronger than the ones i was taking. BUT....
I started the new ones this morning and i have just done a test and now i am more alkaline :wall: WHY ??
I am now thinking i will have to go back to the first lot even though they were weaker, at least i was more acidic !!

Well im not sure where im at this month im cd18 and still no +opk and temp shift?? the lastest ive ever ov was cd16 until i started to take saw palmetto last month and i ovd on cd18, so im v confused.
Ph is low though and cm creamy so thats good, if i ov today i will have had a 3 day cut off which is what i wanted if i dont ov today then ill go for an o +12 then:doh:

I have never done temping or used OPK's but alot of people do and would probably recommend it.
As for a boy - have you read the info at the start of this thread about boy and girl diets and making your PH level alkaline for a boy ?

AFM- well, still doing the girl diet - very over it ! But as i have said before i will keep plodding along. Really hoping that i get a BFP so that i can drop the diet.
I have been eating ONION, ONION and more ONION !!
Mixing it in with my vegies probably every second day and it is working a treat - getting my PH down lower and keeping it down. Happy about that. The downside is that it is not a very pleasant aroma ! Pity all the people i come across ! :lol:

hey all..didnt realise wed started a nw thread lol was wondering why it was so quiet...
went to the dr today and couldnt find the HB so went for a scan today and they did the anatomy scan aswell and all was fine.......it had its feet over its head along with lots of other unco positions which meant we didnt get a good look at the bits although she said she didnt see any obvious boy bits but im not getting my hopes up just yet....still wondering whether i should try peek next time or keep the sex a surprise...im thinking surprise as its my last chance and im not really worried bout it......

I know a bit about gender sway, but need to read back on these threads too I suppose.
For prepping my body in advance of ttc I was wondeirng about diet.
Do you think diet really does make much difference in getting the desired outcome? I have read Tanyas post from somewhere way back which said boy food and girl foods and pretty much all the boys food is what I eat ( and hey - I have 2 boys), but maybe I wouldve got them anyway. It seems a fair bit to change my diet to a girl diet. For example I have a diary allergy so I need to find other ways of increasing my calcium...

Im new to this site and have a few questions regarding trying to conceive a boy I hope someone can help me. I have a little girl and i have no problem what the next one is but my partner longs for a boy.
My last MP was the 31/05/09 and my cycle is 29 days, we had nookie (sorry unsure of the Acronyms you guys use) i think on the 12th June, the 14th June ovulated on the 15th June then had nookie on the 17th and 18th June. my question is
to have a girl the experts say to have sex 3-4 days before ovulation then abstain but what if you keep having nookie 24 hours before you ovulate? does that mean the girls are there waiting for the egg but then the boy sperm comes in and what happens? what are my chances of having either sex? anyone know?

concernig the diet i couldnt do it there is just no way i could of stuck to it and when i was trying it it never changed so i spoke to my gp who told me that about 2/3 on the morning is when your acid is at its lowest so i would wake hubby up about then and do it lol.I did however take the calcium magnesium pills.
I still cant believe that my gs worled so i am getting a 3d scan done in august at 27 weeks so they can give me a clear picture for proof lol crazy i know.

Anyway, i think i have been doing all i can to give myself the best chance at falling pregnant with a pink bundle. If this one ends up being blue too then i will have to just live with that. Its my last chance !
But all that aside - i will still love the baby if its a boy -

Well the deed is done - now we just have to wait.
I am a bit concerned - OK alot concerned !
Last week was absolute chaos - DS#2 b'day - parties and sleepovers etc
So it was a huge week - so tired and didnt get to DTD anywhere near as much as hoped (sorry TMI) Only managed 2 times and it ended up being later than i hoped.
Then i had tummy and back pain yesterday - was thinking it might be OV which would mean i OV early. Which means we DTD too close to OV!!!
Aaaaaaaarrrrrggggggggghhhhhhh - this whole thing has done my head in -

Didnt get to DTD when we wanted
OV early ?
Anyway - i guess now i have to wait to see if i am even pregnant yet before i get too worried ! If i'm not, then thats cool cause i get another chance to get the timing right.

I have just hads my 1st attempt at another boy. My pH when I started last month would not budge from 4.5 but after 6-7 weeks on the boy diet it went up to 7 :) Unfortunately when it came O time it went back down to about 6. Not too stress tho, but I am hanging to eat some chocolate and icecream!!

I will be 9 dpo on Friday - so will test anywhere from the on - i got a BFP earlier this year at 9 dpo then again at 11 dpo. Of course this week is dragging !
Not feeling overly confident that i have succeeded but i gave it a go. If it doesnt happen this month then we will just keep trying.

CB, Just wanted to say that leek is better than onion on the girl diet :) I hope you get a nice early BFP!! I am only a few days behind you and will be testing eearly in hopes of coming off the diet :)

I have stopped the diet for the moment - wasnt coping - stopped 3 days after ovulation. Its a risk i was prepared to take cause of the lack of all the things i love in my diet - biscuits, chocolate, cakes, chips, lollies, spag bol, lasagne etc etc ! :rolleyes:

If you go back to the start of this thread you will find a link for the previous thread - should be some info in there. I am sure Tanya will pop in and help you out.
Your PH levels are what you need to keep an eye on in regards to Acidic (for a girl) and Alkaline (for a boy). eg: I am naturally more alkaline so in order to try for a girl i need to get my PH levels down to more acidic. This is where the diet and tablets come in. Tanya seems to be naturally more acidic so she is trying the boy diet to make her more alkaline. Does that make sense? :rolleyes:
You can buy PH test strips off Ebay or probably from chemists - I got mine off Ebay but have found them confusing. I am sure there are some simpler ones out there. You just test your urine and the strip tells you where your levels are.

I think I posted a fair bit of info on the diet in the gender swaying info thread... You can get loads of info on the diet from the internet. There is a site where a woman has devised a cook book for gender swaying PM me if you would like a link. Be mindful that the pill will make you acidic so you will need to work hard on getting your pH up.
Studies have shown that pH can play a big role in determining which sperm fertilises the egg, low pH will favour X sperm and high pH can favour Y sperm... usually the more fertile you are the higher your pH will be (although last cycle I didn't budge from 4.5 with is very acidic!). You will find if you follow the boy diet your pH will increase. The diet will also help increase/decrease hormones that are known to sway toward one gender or the other. You will need to be on the diet for AT LEAST 6 weeks prior to ttc :)

We would love a girl next time, and its likely we wont ttc again after a third, so really trying to get my head round all this stuff I need to learn for a ttc DD.
I guess the best we can do for now is I can make changes to my diet to try increase calcium and mag. Cut salt and sugar.I might buy some ph strips too...

Went to the chemist to buy tests and ran into a friend !! So i bought some multi vitamins for my boys and left. Didnt want anyone to see me buying tests. :lol:
I found a test in my knicker drawer today. One that i had left over from last time. Just a little cheap one that i got off the net. Knowing full well that it wasnt an early test, i did it just before lunch anyway. BFN !!
