    Gender & timing... ???

Ok so, i am seeing alot that BD'ing on the day of O and after, generally gives you the chance for a boy....... this concerns me lol

DF and i really REALLY want a girl this time (i and when we fall that is)....

Can anyone shed some more light on this for me.... can there be a chance if we BD on the day of O and after to still get a girl??????

Dont get me wrong and please dont think im being mean, or selfish.... a happy and healthy baby of course in the end is all we want BUT, we have just got this so storng in our bones, why i dont know, that we want a girl this time.... even to the point we have her name all picked out and ready and waiting. silly ey!

so let me know your experiences/knowledge etc etc

    TIA

    Hi,
From what I understand and have read, most definitely. There is always a chance that it will be either a boy or a girl. Certainly conditions make it more probable for a certain sex, but no conditions can rule out a sex. The conditions usually determine how quickly either the boys or girls can get to the sperm, but remember it takes thousands of sperm to break down the egg wall, so the first there doesn't even take the prize if you know what I mean. And with the timing of sex in a cycle, thats based on the sperm's survivals rate (females survive longer), so they recommend that if you want a boy to wait to when you specified because if the sperm are waiting for the egg the girls are most likely able to survive the wait. At the end I'of the day, there is always a chance, it may not be 50/50, but there is certainly a chance for either.
SO many other factors play a part, temperature, position, and I heard on the news a few months back new research shows one of the biggest contributors is actually mummy's diet.
I am certainly no expert, DH and I are wanting a son first of so hence the reading I have done. Hope it helps though.
Good luck for that girl! Who knows, if everything works out maybe our boy and your girl and meet up some time hehe jokes.

I have 2 boys from DTD on the day of O.
I have one boy from DTD the day before O.
I have one girl from DTD 4 days before O and what I thought would be my infertile period. No CM at all and we weren't TTC. I was using Billings method to avoid conception.

Could be the luck of the draw but from the gender of my children it could have a bit to do with the timing

Moo. there are also so reports that if you DTD AFTER you O, then you will also be more likely to get a girl. Its called the 0+12 method. Immediately after O your 'environment' changes to favour girl sperm and so that is why it can work for some if you know exactly when you O then add 12 hours, then DTD.

Check out the gender swaying thread it has heaps of good info! It worked for me.... but for a blue one, not a pink one.

We got a girl from dtd 2 days before O. (I read the Shettles method before conceiving). Fingers crossed for a girl for you.
