have you been buying stuff for impending bubs?

    Hi all,
We are currently TTC round 2.
Before I became pregnant with 'bubble' both DH and I were a bit weary of buying and stocking up on things, or accepting seconds from family and friends.
We thought it might 'jinx' us.

Since 'bubble', I have a new attitude toward it, and have sorted of been getting things for a nursery, minus the big stuff like cot etc.
Mainly because a) I love to decorate rooms and sometimes you find stuff that is on sale etc and b) while we still have 2 incomes and can afford to stock up!

Just wondering if any of the BB TTC ladies been doing the same?
Or am I just too eager?

We did!! we even had the cot a year before Spock was conceived =P Basically we made a list of stuff we wanted and put it out to the universe and just kept our eye out for stuff. All our stuff we got at garage sales, markets, antique shops etc.. and really cheap compared to getting it new, and we knew if we didn't get it then we would miss the chance to get it cheap. well that was our rational for having a cot before we even had a baby =P

Yep we are at the moment. After 4.5 years TTC, I dont think my luck can get any worse so why not?!

I believe that you get back what you put out, so if you are positive and are working towards something then you will reap the rewards. I have spent $450 on ebay this week buying things!!! Mainly clothes, wraps and MCN's. I have found the pram, cot and changetable that I want as well

We bought all the big stuff before we even conceived Miss H!

Basically because I thought better to get all the expensive stuff while we had 2 incomes

Took us another year before we fell pregnant!

Lucky we did, because I started a new job when I was 2 weeks along, then had to resign at 5 weeks as I was chucking up all day long for 8 months!

I don't. I don't think it jinx's you or anything, but, to me, it just raises my hopes and expectations for something that might not happen.

I didn't buy big ticket items but after my third loss I bought a gorgeous but ridiculously expensive little outfit. Did it as much as anything to give myself a kick up the bum to get over myself and keep trying. I think there was also a little part of me that thought if I've spent this crazy amount of money on one thing then the universe just HAS to give me a baby ;-)

I am very superstitious though and in the early stages of each pregnancy have never even walked into a baby store, just in case
