Another BFN but no AF question!

Hoping you lovely ladies can give me some advice...
Ok, so I am still breastfeeding and my period returned around 3 months ago, this is my 3rd cycle.
First 2 cycles were between 28-32 days, same as they were before being pregnant.
This cycle I am now on CD40 and no sign of AF!
I am not actively ttc, but have been a bit slack with the mini pill, so there is a chance conception could have occured, but we didn't DTD that much last month and I really have no idea when I would have ovulated!
I have now tested twice with both being BFN's!
Last Monday (9 days ago) I had what i thought was AF cramps all day and could of sworn she was going to show up, but nope, nothing!
So what do you guys think? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, I'm really confused as my cycle has never been this long!
Were anyone's cycles a bit mixed up after returning?
    TIA!
    Janine

    TIA (again!)

Janine - Might be worth going for a BT just to make sure its not pg. Otherwise I have no great advice sorry. I know quite a few women who don't show up on HPT's beore BT's.

I got 4 or 5 BFNs with with pg before I got a very faint positive.
I never got a strong one until some days after the first too.

Go and ask for a BT to be sure

I remember something similar happening to me, can't remember all the details though. Was breastfeeding and had had a couple of normal AF's (I'm always regular) then was about a week late (I think) started freaking out took a test BFN but still no AF started feeling nauseous (sp?) finally AF arrived think I talked myself into being nauseous, found out from others it is quite common for AF to be quite irregular when it first returns after breastfeeding.

That's just my experience I guess it could go either way. Hope you find some answers soon

Any sign of AF yet? My AF has been really irregular since having DS2, one cycle it took 45 days when I used to have a clockwork 28 day cycle! It could just be your body readjusting while your BF'ing. If your really unsure, go to your GP for a blood test.

    Good luck

    Hi there Trish,
Yep, AF showed up yesterday, on CD48!
It was just weird cause my 2 cycles before that (the first 2 i've had since DS was born) were both 32 days, exactly the same as they used to be!
Oh well, atleast now I have my answer, thanks!
