Help...should I go for my 21 day blood test today????

This is my first cycle on Clomid and my specialist wants me to have my 21 day blood test today. I am just wondering if you think I should call and let him know that I have been temping and using OPKs since day 12 and I have not O'd
Is there any point in having the blood test in this case?

Hi there


I dont think you can have the test if you havent ovulated. The test is just called "day 21 test". You are supposed to test 7 days before your period is due. Since a majority of people have a 28 day cycle the test is called 21 day test. It's going to test if have an progesterone - which can only be detected if you have ovulated.

How long is your cycle?? Is it regular?

No my cycle isnt regular at all, hence the clomid to try and get my stupid ovaries to ovulate...
I guess I will just go and have the test, the progesterone levels will be zilch and then I guess my specialist will decide after that if I need to increase the dose..

I didn't ovulate with my first cycle of clomid either, but still went to have the day 21 blood test, which of course showed no ovulation. I'd still go get it done so you can move onto the next cycle.

I would have the blood test anyway to at least see what's going on. I have heard of cases where the OPK was not correct.
