ok so what has everyone else done when ttc to have a high chance of conception like bding every 2nd day, raising ya bum a bit after bding, using preseed instead of normal lubes. Anything else?
Are there any crazy things people have heard to do. one that comes to mind for me is using egg whites as a lube ewwwww

It doesn't sound like you like the idea, but whatever you do don't do the egg white thing.... it can introduce bacteria to your system that can be very nasty.

I can think of a few:

There's one that a lot of women on US websites swear by that if you take a certain cough syrup for a few days B4 oing it can assist in conception. Other websites say this can cause birth defects.

Drinking 1 cup of green tea a day is another popular one (before Oing).... again some say it can cause birth defects and others say it's OK as long as you have a folate suplement each day.

Drinking 1 cup of pineapple juice a day after Oing (but not during pg as it can cause contractions) is yet another one.

Yes i've heard of the green tea one too... I would just BD every single day i reckon!!! Try anyway!! twice per day if you can!!yes i would NOT use eggs no way, bacteria...

A friend of mine got her BFP the first time trying by BD everyday for 10 days straight before and during o. She was pretty tired though.lol

I think that was just good luck for her. Many cycles over my many years of TTC I would have done that and it never worked for me.

I read about that but couldn't believe people would actually do it! I mean..with all that warmth, wouldn't it turn into scrambled eggs? Ew, lol!

Well I drink green tea and pineapple juice every day anyway, always have...so I can't vouch for that one...no BFP for me yet! (I do take extra folate as I have heard the green tea can deplete it)

And...BD'ing 10 days in a row!! Now that's dedication. She deserved that BFP!!!!

nah i would never use egg whites so dont worry. i have read many crazy ideas but i cant remember half of them. i guess some people just try anythign they can after they have been ttc for a long time with no luck.

*my partner is so cute because i have been talkin about babies way too much he will walk past me and say "baby baby baby" then run away lol* Oh and he is even going with out drinking for a whole month that is dedication on his part lol.

Sassy - one of the best things you can do, and its not crazy, is to relax and enjoy your lovemaking - dont do it to the point where it becomes mechanical and you are not having fun anymore! My NP told me to relax, enjoy, get some porn, have a few drinks and get busy LOL!!

I did however do the whole bum up thing!

3mths until we can start TTC! I can't wait and i'm like you still, thinking about babies every day!! I see a mother with a baby at the shops and i'm like "i can't waaaiit until that's me!" I JUST turned 26 the other day, and my maternal instincts have kicked in really, really badly now.... I really want a baby

I don't think it's that you should drink full cream milk as such but more that you should not drink low fat milk while TTC - something to do with it causing infertility in some women. No idea if there's any truth to it.

Hi guys,

Just thought that I would chime in on the milk thing.

It is definitely about the negative effects of low fat not so much that full fat is good. I believe that researchers couldn't be sure why it had a negative effect on fertility but it did. It could be to do with the chemical structure of milk being altered by the de-fatting process?

However if you do consume low fat products incl ice cream, milk yoghurt you can counteract some of the negative effect (25%?) by having a serve of full fat dairy as well. This research was published earlier this year and was widely reported a 2-3 months ago.

I switched to full fat but I (try) to keep serves small, I am not a milk fan but I have full fat when I do have it, in coffee which I have cut back on too.
We only use organic dairy and on the whole all organic cheeses are simple full fat or naturally low fat cheeses like quark, feta, and boconcinni. I find organic yoghurt is delicious and great for calcium and tummy flora!

Yes i've heard this too. It was on the news recently....about how drinking full cream increases fertility (they did survey) so it's best if you can try and drink it. I drink pauls smarter white milk it's soooo nice and not as fatty as the other full cream milks. on a diet at the moment though so i can't have milk

milk? THat's weird! ALthough, they do say not to have dairy when you have a cold as it increases mucus, so maybe it increases the GOOD mucus for ttc...?

I think it's very helpful if you make sure you BOTH get an orgasm. Obviously you can concieve with only him having one, but the female orgasm helps move the spermies up, and let's face it - if you're gonna do it everyday for 10 days straight there has to be SOME compensation...

hey restar i have cut my wait down i can start trying after my period at the end of the month lol i couldnt wait till end of aug and some thing have changed. we have put or honeymoon off because we couldnt afford to go where we wanted and i didnt wanna pay to go somewhere just because we cant afford to go where we want if that makes sense. so that way also i dont have to worry about flying in my last trimester if it happens that way.
I have been reading and looking up so much about ttc and pregancy i feel so ready. we are going to try as much as we can first try. trev is even gonna not drink for a month.
SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *`~.,BABY DUST,.~`* for everyone lol i am gonna buy a endless supply of baby dust.

I recommend BDing somewhere that isn't your home lol.

#1 conceived on my parents lounge room floor (we were house sitting)
#2 & 3 conceived under my pal's house (I was staying at her place, meant to be a girls night out but somehow DH got into town and came back with me )
#4 conceived in the great outdoors

Sassy, that's so exciting!!! wooohhoo! Not long then....!

We are still waiting until end of August... 1mth before wedding That's only 12 weeks away!!! Not long at all...and I can wait.. I am losing weight at the moment too, i've just lost 3kgs proud of myself and want to lose another 10kgs before wedding... (and to make it easier to conceive)
I got so excited last night, I was sitting on the computer (on BB hehe) and my sweet DF came over and handed me a kmart catalogue and had it open at the "baby" section hehe it was sooo cute so i had a look at the prams and cots etc thinking about what i will buy when we are pregnant....!!! so he's excited...!! yay! he always has been but he doesnt talk about it every day like i do... it's a woman thing i think!!

that's great your partner is stopping drinking for a month! Make sure he takes vitamins or Zinc tablets too (good for sperm mobility i've read) DF has started taking multi vitamins every day and i'm going to get him onto Zinc tablets soon...

I honestly think the best thing you can do to increase your chances is to not stress, relax and let it happen ( I know a lot of people hate this saying, I did when I was ttc, but really it worked for me)

I'd been ttc for 4 months, I was charting, taking temps, using opk's, you name it I did it. After 4 months I decided to take a step back from it all and still ttc but not be fanatical about it. DF and I dtd once that month around the right time (previously we were at it twice a day for around 5-6 days!) and whatd'ya know we got our bfp on our 5th month of trying!

So relax hun, take time to rest an relax, that is the best thing you can do for yourself!
