    Hopes up over nothing

    Hi Ladies,

Just having a little vent...... I took a HPT a two days ago.I took the test then took a phone call... It was about 8 mins or so, then I raced back to the bathroom and I saw two lines. The second line was definitely there...

I didn't know exactly when the second line appeared, so I didn't want to get my hopes up (incase it was an evaporation line) I work for a medical supplier, and I can buy pregnancy tests off my work that the doctors use at the GP's.

I must admit, I let myself think I could actually be pregnant.

I took another test this morning to see if the line had gotten any darker, and it was gone. no line.

I knew in the back of my mind that this could be the case and I was never pregnant, but I'm still disappointed.

Just wanted to get my thoughts out.

    Hi Kimmi
Did you use the same brand of tests both times? I have heard Dr's tests are not as sensitive.

I had one positive digital test, one negative test, threepositive poas tests and several negatives. The baby sleeping in his bedroom at the moment proves that sometimes, they can be wrong. I took a variety of tests with variable sensitivity. i believe that the dr surgery tests require you to have at least 50 - 100mh/ml or whatever it is of HcG in your urine. The more sensitive the test, the earlier it will pick up the hcg in your system. Give it a couple more days, read the backs of the packaging to see which tests are the most sensitive (i actually looked up reviews on line!Google it!!) and try again if AF still hasn't come.
You may not be, hun, but ya know what? You might be!! keep faith xoxox
