For those of you who are charting/have charted before, I'm interested in knowing a couple if things;
- How long did you present with EWCM? (egg white cervical mucous for you newcomers!)
- How long did you present with ovulation pains, or lower abdomen cramping- (strong or mild) and during which part of your cycle?
- Does/did your O pains usually coincide with EWCM or do you usually only get them once EWCM subsides?
I am currently in a TWW and today is 4 DPO (days past ovulation) in my cycle and the O pains are still very much present. I didn't get any pains this cycle until the day of my first high temp (which technically means O has already occurred right?).
Wheras, last cycle, I got quite strong cramps during the fertile days of EWCM before ovulation, as well as post ovulation when mucous had changed. Funny how this cycle I felt absolutely nothing during the EWCM phase.......
I usually get EWCM for 1 or 2 days. I know I get some cramping around that time, but haven't been recording it so I'm not sure if its a few days before, or day of. It seems to vary from cycle to cycle for me too, but I don't usually get it after.
Also this is my first cycle on clomid and both ovaries were very twinge-y (felt like a stitch) on day 3 - 7.
A bit off topic- but I saw that you were TTC with endo & maybe PCOS- and I wondered if you had read Francesca Naish's Book The Natural Way to Better Babies- Preconceptual Healthcare for Prospective Parents? It's a brilliant guide for TTC with these conditions- and full of advice that you are unlikely to hear from your doctor.
Just a suggestion- its helped many people I know.
I am now on my 2nd full cycle of charting and I am still a little unsure if i get o pain though I have been a little crampy the last 3-4 days so cant be of much help there I have however last 2 cycles had around a week of EWCM. I am now on CD 32 and FF is saying that I o'd on Monday, I think it was more like yesterday as I finally got a positive OPK Tuesday & Wednesday. My EWCM started last Wednesday so its been 7 days! Though i seemed to have more on that first day than on any other day. I was so determined to keep DTD while i had it as last cycle i thought I had already o'd before i actually had
I've been TTC for a year and charted on and off but keep close eye on CM and ovulation pain/cyclical pain.
I get CM for 1-2 days (really thick & sometimes pink tinged) and then can get another 2-3 days of clearer thinner CM (sorry for TMI) around ovulation time (usually CD13-CD15 for me) but the CM can start as early as CD8. I'm still a bit confussed about the type of CM I'm having earlier on because I thought that is what I was meant to be getting right before ovulation but according to all the OPK's & temps, my ovulation is around when I get the thinner watery CM.
Most cycles I get ovulation pain but seems to be worse with the right ovary and generally starts a day or 2 after I get the thick CM. It can then continue for a couple of days sometimes getting progressively worse (sometimes very severe doubling over pain) that will last for at least 24 hrs and generally I get (+)OPK at the onset of any cramping i.e. 1-2 days after the thick CM. So ovulation pains usually start around CD9-CD11 for me and can last until CD16 or so but are off and on. Usually with the pain at its peak around actual ovulation.
I have also had cycles where I've had no pain at all but still ovulated according to my temps. I'd also love to know why some months you get cramps and others you don't. Does it mean good or bad news about the egg that's being realised? Weird isn't it. Good luck with you TTC journey and hope the wait is over for you soon.
I don't get any pain with ovulation and get EWCM for 2 days or so but this is not a hard and fast rule. It changes each cycle for me and I have only been having regular periods since Ds was born.
Zig Zag- I have also wondered if the degree of pain at ovulation was indicative of egg quality..... I had always thought that, the healthier you were (ie- hormones balanced), the less pain you would encounter. However, it is rather strange when one person can have a month of doubling over pain and then the next month no recognisable pain. Mmmm..... I will have to ask my Naturopath!!
Kylnor- my EWCM lasted a week this cycle too - although normally its only about 4 days. More chances to get UTD I hope!!
It is now 5 DPO, and I am still getting consistent low achy pains, but they feel like they are more in my uterus than in my ovaries.....
I am reluctant to get my hopes up for a BFP- incase it is an early AF, although it wouldn't be like me to get cramping for 5 days prior to AF appearing......to early to test!!
