    How to tell the family?

Hey guys me and my DH were talking about if I'm pregnant how to tell our family in a very funny way so everyone will remember it and have a story to tell . So I thought I would come on here and ask everyone =]

I thought of a shirt saying Baby on board or mummy's got a kicker.
My DH said that he should say he's expecting and wait till the catch on

    What are your funny ideas?

Gather everyone for a family photo at dinner, and instead of 'say cheese!' say, 'everyone say, Tashie's pregnant!' and take the photo. Lasting memory of their reactions. I'd have done this of we had semi normal family.

I've got a photo of four positive pg tests lined up in a row that I took yesterday.

I am going to write cards with "congratulations! You're a Nana again" (etc for Auntys) and the photo inside.
Just waiting until we feel confident to announce!!

I wasn't going to see my family until I was 18 weeks pregnant so my plan was to arrive at the airport with a t-shirt saying "yes I'm pregnant" but unfortunately DH accidentally spilled the beans about 2 weeks before. I like the photo idea though, that's inspired.

Close family we told over the phone when ivf cycle worked and they all remember it. Extended family got a Christmas card with 12 week scan photo on it.

With number two, we invited my parents & the PILs out for dinner & put DS in a TShirt saying "big brother", with the idea of waiting for someone to notice. Unfortunately no-one did. Even when I said, "hey what do you think of DS's T-Shirt?". LOL! Most observant family ever.

We went round to my parents for a drink. After everyone had had their first, I stood up and said 'nanna, pop, do you want another drink?', it was good fun watching my mum get it straight away and having to repeat the question a few times before my dad clicked.

We did something similer. At Christmas we put a short on dd saying 'big sis' my cousin new as she made it for me. Anyway we made sure my grandparents got it straight away (well we thought my nan did). After a few hours someone said what do u think of the shirt. My aunt said 'big sis. What does that mean' followed by 'how do you become a big sis?'. Omg it took forever.

With my first it was around Christmas time that we were going to announce, so my sister made up the bon bons and instead of a joke she wrote a little poem that everyone opened up and read. Was pretty funny!

We had some pictures of our 12 week scan on my phone. At a family dinner we said we wanted to show them images of our new 'baby', the reverse cycle air con (!).

So they were flicking through and DH was giving a running commentary. They got to the scan, DH casually says "and there's our actual baby"...cue stunned silence, and then squealing. I burst into tears of course

Good luck with that BFP Tashie! Telling the people you love is almost as exciting as finding out yourself (almost).
