Question How will a doctor treat low progesterone?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has got any info; I've been taking Vitex and using a low progesterone creme to increase my luteal phase and its not working.

Has anyone been to the doctors to help with low progesterone? How do they treat it?

    Hi lady bug,

I booked into see a FS. They can do a BT to test your progesterone, but the length of your luteal phase is a good guide. Mine was 9 days and because i knew that they didn't bother with a BT. They say you should have 10 at a bare minimum, but I have seen several women on BB fall with 9 days, so it's not that clear cut. Knowing when you ovulate it also helpful as ovulation and luteal phase can be interlinked for some people. I had ovulation at 21+ days. With me they treated ovulation with clomid and then FSH injections as I had -ve side effects from clomid. I also had progesterone pessaries (used internally). This combination gave me ovulation around CD14 and a long luteal phase. I actually had to stop taking the pessaries in order to get AF, and then it took me 2-3 days for AF to arrive.
