    Smile Wat do u think?

Hi everyone i just wanted to ask a question about when to BD, this is the 3rd month of ttc and i decided to use opks anyway todays opk looks like both the lines are the same colour we BDed last night and i was also wondering if we should bd today and tomorrow or tomorrow and Friday?
Last month dh had some performance issues which is why i am asking the question to see wether i should give him a break tonight or not?

    Thanks
    Mel

    Hi Mel.
If you BD last night you might get lucky.
(as I said in a previous thread....I apologise for sounding a little hypocritical giving that I am 5wk 3 days PG after 1st month TTC)

My Dr told me that the more you BD...the less little swimmer your fella will produce...therefore (and these are her words not mine...Less is definitely more!!) basically if you BD tonight, tomorrow morning and tomorrow night, you might get lucky, but the more you BD, the closer he gets to shooting blanks for a few days...(sorry that sounds so horrible!)

My suggestion would be tonight and maybe tomorrow night, better to get lots of the little dudes in rather than just lots of moisture and no swimmers!!!

    Good luck!
Oh and I could be totally wrong...I'm just going by what my Dr said!

There are two kind of general ideas that get floated that i have heard of

The first is to have sex everyday for three days from the first positive OPK but you need to have had sex about 3-5 days before to "refresh the sperm"

The other is to only have sex every second day, that way you arent wearing out yourselves and there is still fresh sperm being produced without lowering the sperm count. This is done basically roughly the week you are due to O the thought being there will already be sperm there or on its way within 24hrs.

The choice is yours, I am about to finish my 6mth of ttc have tried both methods for a few months but still havent been lucky and I am starting to think that luck plays a good part in all of this.

Good luck to you, it is hard "having to DTD" try to relax and make it more about your affection for each other rather than a baby making mission.

can you BD every day in the 2 week period? (not that we would have the energy to! ) i mean, aren't sperms being produced ALL the time by men? Just a thought.... not sure.....?

we are about to TTC very soon next month... just reading these threads and everyone seems to say every 2nd day... it makes sense tho as the sperm survive inside us for a good 2-3 days is that right?!?!

    good luck Mindy

I takes a while for sperm to "mature" (there men they never mature *giggles*) so if you DTD to often there either isnt any swimmers or they arent big enough to break through the egg. So basically if you do it to much there is no benefit in baby making but there is plenty of benefit to those enjoying the BD.
