Hi ladies,
I joined this forum quite awhile ago after 8 months of TTC, but my husband and I decided to leave it for awhile so I haven't been on for quite awhile.
Since we stopped trying I've gone on a real health kick, I've lost 17.4 kg and have become a lot fitter in the hope that it would make me a little more fertile.
This cycle is the first time we have tried since stopping, and its looking really promising but I am hoping I am not getting excited over nothing.
My last AF finished 24 November, and usually my cycle is a week longer, but still I am definitely late, almost a week. I have been doing HPT and haven't been having anything, until Christmas. On Christmas morning there was an EXTREMELY faint line, so faint you could only see it in the light. It wasn't much to go on, but on Christmas eve I didn't have anything, so an extremely faint line was a good enough Christmas present for me. Yesterday I did another in the middle of the day, and yep - another one come up. Again it was faint, but it was there. I did another this morning using the first morning pee, and there is definitely a line coming up well before 5 minutes, but it is still really faint. My concern is that I am using really sensitive tests (15 whatever the unit is), so this far after my period is due, shouldn't the line be a lot stronger? I kinda have other symptoms, like I am tired a lot more than usual, my nipples are a little sore to touch and I have been having unusual tummy cramps that I definitely have not had before - but of course all could be put down to other things OR could well be my imagination.
So... do you think I am pregnant? I really want this, so I am hoping and praying I am. But with such a sensitive test, I am thinking that line should be a lot darker in colour.
Any comments would be appreciated
Firstly, i honestly think a congrats are in order...
Yes, although the test's you are using may be sensitive, it doesnt mean it should make the line darker. All that means is it will pick up the HCG alot sooner than another test. So, if we go on that train of thought, that means the line is always going to be faint so early on... so i wouldnt be concerned about that. You may have also O'd later tha you thought, which would mean you may have only just had implantation, resulting in this very faint positive.
Id give it another day, do another test.... but going by all you have said i would say a congrats is in order
I'm thinking if there's a second line... no matter how faint, then its a positive Have a look in my gallery, I have my positive tests in there & my very first (just before Christmas last year) was incredibly faint but over a week the line got darker.
I say "Congrats!"
Maybe head to the Dr's & ask for a blood test to put your mind at ease & get a definate result?
The brand of HPT is Oracle Fertility, we brought them off the net.
I might wait a week and then do another test, if thats still positive I'll head to the docs. My husband and I are very excited, so I hope we're not disappointed . Only time will tell. I'll let you know how it goes (knowing me there's no way I'll wait a week!)
For what its worth, my lines NEVER got darker! They were always really faint and I even got a few BFNs after my BFP. I ended up going a Clearblue Digital which said "pregnant" (a huge joy and relief) and when I had my blood test at 15 -16 DPO my hcg was only 34 which explains the faint lines I guess.
Good luck and see the doc for a blood test if you don't get a more definitive answer from the HPT!
I just wanted to wish you good luck!! I agree with the others, if there is a line then it's a bfp, even if it's faint. With ds2 I did a pregnancy test at the dr's and it was very faint but a blood test showed my hcg level was 60 000 something and I was 8 weeks then!
