Im New. Things for me to consider before TTC

Hello Everyone,

I am new to Belly Belly. My partner has just agreed to start trying for our second child in a few months time, I am so excited. We have a son together who will be 4 in June.

However there is a few things to consider before TTC.

1. i have a IUD in so will have to get this taken out appartently i will b ready to conceive immediatly however since my periods have been stuffed up from this i will be wanting to have a couple of mentrual cycles to figure out my ovulation cycle

2. I have previously had 3 extensive blood clots in my leg (year and half after pregnancy) so have to figure out once i am pregnant what action needs to b taken while pregnant (asprin everyday to thin blood or clexane injections every day of pregnancy)

I was wondring if anyone else here has had these problems?

Hey SarahMc,

I cant specifically answer about the blood clots however with the IUD sometimes it can be hard to concieve afterwards.
I too had one and 8 months after removal and still TTC with no luck. Its said that the IUD's thin the uterine walls which in turn makes implantation hard.
However what might make things easier for you, (but I suggest talking to your doctor first), is I read somewhere that if you take infant asprin or baby asprin it helps to re line the walls of the uterus so implantation can take, but also it helps to thin the blood still so it may also be useful for the clots!! Also some forms of progesterone is supposed to help with the lining as well. But as I said i wouldnt recommend doing this prior to speaking to a doctor first. As a nurse its my duty to encourage you to be informed before deciding. LOL. In any case good luck and all the best in TTC. Hopefully yours will work out almost straight away!! GL Darl!!
